hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. Stephen had poofed shortly after the fighting cleared and those who needed it where ushered off to medical... Barnes had been hit hard, Clint had seen it happen, Stephen had tried to and failed to stop it.

He archer goes and cleans up a little, picks up some stupid 80's horror movies, a couple of oven pizzas, some snacks, and lucky, and hopes he'll find Stephen in the sanctum.

Clint moves easily into the building dumping stuff in the fridge as Lucky wanders off to do his own thing. He finds Stephen in the suite within the sanctum. "Buck will be fine, s'not your fault anyway..."

The pain in his chest and back were still there, but they weren't as bad as they were when he first woke up a few days ago in the medbay from what he thought was certain death. Jyn was a great comfort to have around, though. Even just thinking about her made him smile - something the old Cassian would've never done.

Happy. It was such a foreign emotion for him to feel especially when someone else caused it - as if he was dependent on it.

But then the dreams started.

The horrors that he kept hidden, buried deep inside himself - all the horrible things he did - they started to resurface. He didn't know what caused it - maybe it was the medication the doctors in the medbay had given him - maybe it was the realization that he couldn't do all this alone - but they were resurfacing with a vengeance.

And so...he kept himself away from him - thinking that she didn't want damaged goods like him. A polite hello or a quick smile, and that was it.
