THE DUBCON MEME

WARNING - MEME MAY CONTAIN TRIGGERS

Whether it gets awkward and painful or if it goes perfectly smooth, generally speaking the basic fundamentals of sex are the same: there are two (or more) attracted parties who both decide to act on that attraction. If there's not attraction involved, there's still a mutual consent involved. If it's not mutual, there's a problem in the line somewhere...but what about when there's strong grounds for that mutual consent to be disputed on one or both sides?

Sometimes, things get a little bit (or quite a lot) dubious.

Step One: Post your character with Name/fandom/preferences, and be sure to consider just how closely to what side of dubious consent you're willing to walk (slightly dubious, or very obviously invalid)

Step Two: Others respond, rolling up or choosing a scenario.

Step Three: One or both parties get consent all muddled up.

Step Four: Deal with the fall out afterward, if you choose.

1-4 are more mutual dubious consent, and easier to walk the line of consent. 5-9 are more one sided and walk the line of non-consent.

1. Outside coercion - On display, or some perverted laws, or maybe there's a breeding facility of some sort.

2. Aphrodisiacs - Accidental or on purpose, one or both have been doused heavily in some sort of irresistible aphrodisiacs.

3. Biological imperative - Baby-making (or many attempts) must happen NOW. For the sake of children, or just to survive something.

4. Intoxication - Beer goggles and impaired judgement.

5. Illicit substances - Lack of any judgment whatsoever, nor probable recollection.

6. Sleeping - Sleeping may not be 'yes' but it's also not 'no'.

7. Control - Through actual control or some sort of blackmail, the 'yes' probably isn't sincere.

8. Trickery - Deceit and misrepresentation of one party to convince the other.

9. Manipulation - Bedazzle and confuse them somehow into saying yes when they normally wouldn't.

10. Wildcard - Some form of dubious consent circumstances not listed.

[ Of all the nefarious things on Setsuna's to do list, blackmail was strangely absent — at least being on the receiving end of it, anyway.

Just how someone had discerned who he was, what he was, and the organization he worked for still eluded the pilot; a single text message detailing a handful of classified secrets had been enough to send him running to the heels of this unknown figure. Only a time and place of meeting were attached to the message. Common sense told him it was a trap, but the person in question left him little choice. If the information leaked, it would endanger Celestial Being, and thus the mission.

And endangering the mission under any circumstances was simply unthinkable.

So soldiering up his courage and holding tight to his gun, Setsuna shoulders his way inside the abandoned building, sharp eyes adjusting immediately to the darkness as he announces his presence. ]

I'm here, just as you asked. [ His voice rings with a confidence he truly does not have; his muscles are tense, waiting to spring into action, or to flee. ] What is it that you want?

[Shizuo doesn't drink very often, with good reason. Being out of his proper mind with his level of strength could only lead to bad things - namely, an inability to properly judge just how much strength he was exerting when going about his usual evening activities. If he did happen to imbibe on a rare occasion, he was usually careful not to go too far overboard. Luckily, with his tolerance to things like pain medication, sedatives, and other substances, it takes a lot to bring Shizuo overboard, and it is therefore easy for him to avoid any mistakes.

Tonight is different. Tonight, Shizuo went a bit too far. He's only (more or less) human, and sometimes that means human mistakes. But he was feel down and pissed off and regret, and so he spent too long at the Russian sushi bar, had entirely too much to drink, and found himself on his way to Izaya's place.

He's going to kill the flea.

Not really, though. Even in his drunken state, Shizuo knows he would never really kill the informant, because he doesn't want to be more of a monster than he already is. (And let's face it, Izaya is too quick and logical, whereas Shizuo is irrational.) But the thought is a comforting one in his state, and so he drunkenly knocks on Izaya's door. Then, on second thought, he decides to knock it in instead - impatient as it is - kicking at it only once to get it to give. He stumbles inside.]

Iz-ayaaaa.

[He's uncordinated and slurring, and most definitely going to regret this later.]

[It's pretty much the first time he's been so close to a Leo who stank of the Abyss, not that Leo who had his Queen's scent clouding him.

Leo is bound with his wrists behind his back with what looks like leather-hard sinew. His clothes have been shredded with claws; some swipes have caused Leo to bleed. Which has led the Chain to lean down and lap at the bloody cuts hungrily.]
