The Calm You Down Smut Meme

You're about to go off the rails. No, no "about," actually. You've left that train track fair behind, and you're crazy. Rage fills every inch of you, and there's no doubt you're about to do something dangerous, stupid, or reckless. Or all three. There's only one person who can calm you down: your lover. They have tried everything they know to get those thoughts from your heard. Everything except for this... Now, they're using physical intimacy to remind you what really matters, which is the two of you. Surely, this will bring you back, letting the anger ebb out and you'll be able to think straight again, even if your lover was the actual cause of all this mess. Won't it? Surely you won't direct your wrath towards them, no matter what. Will's been pacing back and forth from his broken window for the past ten minutes.

He's still got the tape measure in his hand, even. There's a hammer and nails unhelpfully sitting under the splintered sill. The glass has been cleaned - the shattered streaks from the floor swept up, the large chunks left sitting in the ruined frame plucked out. Everything is cleared out for measuring and repair work to begin, so Will won't just have a trash bag taped across a third of his kitchen wall anymore.

Except every time he comes close enough to touch the sill, feel the place where Randall Tier's weight bore down heavily enough to bow and then splinter the frame, Will feels the vibrations start back up in his limbs. His heart thuds so loudly in his ears he wonders if it's that mechanical jaw clenching down near his skull. Self-preservation shakes through him, shivers out through his fingertips and leaves him entirely - so that all Will has left, all Will is, is riotous and stomach-twisting revenge.

And he misses the way the first two knuckles on his right hand split while hitting Randall's face. He misses the fact that he actually strained his left wrist when he broke Randall's nose. He misses the way he hadn't felt a thing when he lifted a man his own weight who was wearing a fucking mechanical bear suit and dragged him into his truck. Will hadn't felt the soreness in his back until the next day, when he'd woke up with half his joints stiff and swollen.

But he doesn't remember that, when he rests his hand on the damp sill. Snow's been melting across it while it's been uncovered, but Will's intention to measure it so he could order the appropriate sheet of glass has been forgotten. In its wake is the rising-steam fury about having his house invaded, his hand being pressed into violence, the fact that he's ingratiated himself to Hannibal Lecter and therefore made this charade of theirs more convincing--

Will swings back around from the window, only to find that he's grabbing one of his own kitchen chairs instead. He doesn't process it, doesn't plan, doesn't use the ceremony Doctor Lecter might approve of - it's all animal instinct, it's all rage, as he breaks the back of it off against the already-damaged sill.

A wordless howl echoes back at Will as tremors shake through his hands, up his spine. A disjointed and terrified fury sinks into his bones as he lets the broken seat of the chair slip from his fingers. He doesn't look down at the ruined pieces, just keeps staring out across his snow-drowned yard.

The cold sweeps right past him and inside. Will doesn't feel a thing, even as his panting breath steams in the air.

[ Albus has been pacing the flat for approximately thirty-seven minutes.

It's surprising, perhaps: lately he's been in a good mood when he gets home from the Ministry and tosses himself into his personal work. Harry Potter's younger son has made a name for himself over the past few years, coming from meager beginnings (Slytherin Squib) to something much greater. It's like everything has blossomed. When his book (their book) had originally been published people assumed the worst but upon actually reading it, there was no contest. He'd put out some of the most astounding work on wards anyone had seen in decades.

People rarely say anything to his face these days.

He works like a man possessed at home and at the Ministry he slithers through, working through officials and gathering information and pushing his own agenda. It isn't a bad one, to be sure. It's just that his methods are...

Well, let's just say that the day has gone horribly as some of his hard-earned information is absolutely useless. Of course it is. Pressing down on a Ministry official had gone horribly and he'd had to Obliviate the man before anything could get out.

Merlin, could things get worse?

So of course he's aggravated. Of course he's restless. Of course his heart is in his throat and his rage on his sleeve. He tried to rein himself in but he's always been a being of emotion and he's trying to think of his next move. Scorpius isn't home yet: maybe he can calm himself down by then. They'd both been working late and eating dinner at work so it's just... relaxing time. They can do that, right?

He's so frustrated that the crackle of his uncontrolled (for the briefest second) magic shatters a mirror in the entry.

Okay, so maybe not.

He's still nearly choking on his own ire but he pauses long enough to fix the damn thing before Scorpius gets home. ]

Jack's apartment was already kind of small and cluttered, but the act of actively trashing it made it into a total dump. Hans was left to navigate over toppled furniture and broken glass, his hair tousled from struggle and his ordinarily perfect outfit mussed from exertion.

He knew Jack was broke, but he didn't know the boy was actively in debt. Fuck, if he'd just said something, Hans would've-- It was the other shoe hitting him squarely in the clavicle that had him swearing and fuming, launching across the room to tackle Jack and pin him against the wall by his neck.
