Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness;

The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love.

This post can provide that, too.

Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. All are welcome, they just have to take that first step.

For weeks Cain had been coming back to the room long after Abel had, hiding bruises, hiding scrapes, and ignored any questions. But the longer he pushed his concern away, the more Abel wanted to know, the more it filled his mind, and as he typed on his holoscreen, as quietly as possible as the other man snored softly next to him, he couldn't quite focus. Admittedly since Cain had threatened to throw it out the airlock, he had been on it less in the evenings working in bed, but with his thoughts on Cain, work had gotten a little less productive these last few days.

Some vicious cycle where thinking of Cain stopped him from working while he was away and while Cain was sleeping near him, guilt made him want to work more, to finish coding and engineering the new tech assigned to him.

Frustrated, he switched it off, setting the thing aside, far enough away to not be disturbed, and layed down next to his partner. Fingers very softly slid along Cain's shoulder, noting that one of the bruises he had recieved last week was healing better, but that he had gained a few more.

"Cain?" He asked softly, trying not to startle him awake but very gently running his fingers along his arm, tickling hair and the smooth skin of his forearm and bicep. He didn't dare startle him because he seemed the type to potentially swing a punch instead of come to slowly. It wouldn't do if they both were bruised.
