❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧ - from krystaliske @ memebells

[Oh--hey, it's over before Yuuri can even think about it. And he can't even be annoyed about the lack of warning when his phone chimes with a new message.]

Thanks. [Emil gets a smile for his efforts.] I'll wait until we've passed out the drinks. The kids won't be happy with us if we let their hot chocolate get cold.

[You kind of have to be fast when a lot of the pictures you take are action shots. So he's gotten good at being fast about it, even if his thumbs weren't basically lightning like some skaters out there. He tucks his phone back into his pocket before helping in distributing the hot chocolate to the waiting gaggle of children still watching them. He grins at them then asks them all to smoosh together a little, before taking up a position to take a photo of all of them together, including Yuuri in the background handing out the last of the drinks. It wouldn't go up online or anything, but he thought it deserved commemorating.

He waits until Yuuri joins him again before resuming their walk.]

So, hey, have you ever been to the snow festival? I know it's more of a tourist thing than a real local event but it's still really cool.

[Yuuri's smiling as he sends the last kid off with their hot drink, even waving a little when some of them turn and call back to them as they head home.]

Hmm? [The cup stops just in front of his lips as Yuuri turns his attention back to Emil.] No, I haven't gone before. I didn't really travel outside of Hasetsu much before I left for Detroit. Sometimes for competitions, but that's it.

[He made a quiet sound, nodding as he thought about that.]

That makes sense actually. I'm guessing you've always been kind of reluctant to go out of your way to do stuff like that right? Traveling and being in the middle of other people, I mean.

[Yuuri's shoulders lifts in a slight shrug, though he adopts a thoughtful look as he does it.]

The big crowds are part of it. There wasn't really anyone to go with either. My family has an inn to run, Minako-sensei has her studio... and my friends Yuuko and Nighigori got married and had their daughters pretty early, too. [Sipping at at his drink, Yuuri pauses.] Maybe Phichit and I could have gone, but we were busy keeping up with our training and studies the whole time.
