When Cassian came to in the medbay on Yavin 4, he almost thought that he was dead - he had to be - Scarif, the Death Star, the bright, yellow glow of certain death...but no, he was here and alive when he shouldn't have been. He had been prepared to die on that beach that day with Jyn - sure, he would've liked more time, but he knew he wasn't going to get it.
