[ Jake immediately recognized the voice on the phone to be Gansey. Calling from an unknown number. His stomach dropped and the two words Stay calm did very little to actually keep Jake from completely losing it.

In his experience, anyone who decided to lead their statement with Stay calm, was going to be following it up with something that would do the very opposite. ]

[ He whispered, rolling Gansey's words around in his brain, suddenly completely frozen on the spot, clutching his phone tightly with one hand.

Kidnapped. Kidnapped. Jake's heart pounded in his chest. He'd dealt with kidnappings before, knew the procedure for it like the back of his hand, but with Gansey at the center of it, his mind blanked and he swallowed thickly. ]

I don't know. [Gansey answers and the kidnappers don't provide him with information. It's like they just want Jake to know that they have him. That they could do anything they wanted and apparently money was not going to assuage them. He's offered ridiculous amounts already.]

I don't know what they want Jake. I'm not sure where I am.

[Even if he did know he didn't think they'd let him say that as much.]

Jake.. [He's scared but he doesn't want to let it show. He's trying to be Richard Campbell Gansey III but being kidnapped has a way of making him feel less powerful.]
