 Otherwordly Meme

Sometimes all you need is a word to spark off an idea.
1. Post a comment with your character's name, canon, and any preferences you may have (no shipping, no smut, etc.)

2. Leave the comment blank or post a word or two in the body.

It may also help if you list scenarios you would like to play.

3. Reply to other people, either with words you picked out, or words they posted as prompts for a thread.

Used to being dismissed by law enforcement, Ray would be neither surprised nor particularly offended if the detective hadn't read his card. In fact, he'd be more surprised if he had.

"True," he said as he straightened and replaced his hat. "But in these parts, 'standard practice' isn't always so standard, and it sounds like you know that."

Gesicht considered his options. The most ideal may be to pass Shields onto one of the local officers, who may connect him to a private investigator. It was not, however, the most likely option to succeed given the information he has, or necessarily the most efficient.

"I will accompany you in your investigation." In the event that the lawyer attempted anything underhanded (statistically improbable), Gesicht would catch it. "Is there anything in particular you want to examine?"

Well, this was a surprise. It wasn't often that the cops wanted to help. Of course, Ray knew the more likely case was that this man just wanted to keep an eye on him, but as long as he didn't impede his investigation, he would run with it. He clapped his hands, delighted. "Uncle Ray gets his very own detective? Well, I can feel this case getting easier already. But before we get to the nitty gritty, shouldn't I at least get your name?"
