[Cassian has been to this lake and waterfall several times in the past, but he never realized that there's something behind there.

He's a little uneasy about it - he doesn't know what's on the other side, but Jyn doesn't seem to be worried so he figures he shouldn't be either.]

What is it?

[unanticipate]

[ She gives a small laugh, saying over the sound of the water, ]

You have to see it for yourself!

[ She doesn't let go of his hand as she keeps closer to the rock face, the spray from the water but still creating a cool mist. ]

[alltheway]

[He stays close to her, his hands helping him forward as he grabs onto the rock face next to him.

The water is making his clothes slightly damp, but not too wet. His hair is getting the same treatment, though, so he combs it back with his hand.]

[unanticipate]

[ She lets go enough to make the jump down. Not that far but more than a simple step down. She warns him, though, ]

Careful.

[ She reaches up to smooth her own damp hair back, taking in the curtain of water behind them and the bare, open cave in front of them. There's some light coming in through the opening and water, but Jyn heads toward where it gets darker. ]

Have you ever been back here?

[alltheway]

[He puts his hand on her shoulder, using her to make sure he doesn't fall.

When they make it to the small cave, he looks around.]

No, never.

[Cassian is surprised he doesn't know about this cave - he's been on these trails several times - he likes to explore the surrounding areas - but he's never found this cave before - then again, it is behind a waterfall.]

[unanticipate]

[ That just makes Jyn grin wide, pleased that she can show him something new. As she keeps walking further in, the nave narrows for a bit before it opens back up. The ceiling up into the darkness and the walls wide apart.

It's easy to see why she wanted him to see this: along the ceiling are glowing blue orbs and they reflect in the pools below, causing the whole cave to look similar to a bright night sky.

Still grinning as she looks up at it, ]

Isn't it beautiful?

[He's speechless for a moment as he looks around the cave, mouth open slightly. He's never seen anything so beautiful before.]

This is amazing.

[He walks further into the room, stepping right on the edge of a shallow pool. Suddenly, he turns, looking at her accusingly.]

Did you come here by yourself?

[unanticipate]

[ She's jarred from her own "star watching" when he asks that, looking at him and shrugging, ]

Yeah. I wasn't going to spend all day in my room.

[ She starts to remove the pack, ]

Plus, I've never been to this planet before.

[ It's only natural for her to want to explore it. ]

[alltheway]

You could've gotten hurt.

[He's sure he's ruining the moment but this is a mostly an unexplored planet. She could've easily gotten herself into trouble (which Jyn likes to do on occasion, knowingly or not).

He walks over.]

[unanticipate]

[ She frowns a little bit at that. ]

But I didn't.

[ She sets the bag on the ground and then kneels down to start undoing her boots. ]

I've been in caves before. This is one of the better ones, I can assure you.

[alltheway]

Still. Who knows what's in here.

[He follows suit, untying his boots and then taking them off. He figures she's going to sit on the edge and let her feet hang down into the water.]

[unanticipate]

Nothing attacked me the last two times I was in here...

[ And he's nearly right. After getting her boots off she runs over to what looks like a ledge into a deeper pool -- but when she jumps in, the water is only up to her ankles. ]

You never know.

[Leave it to Cassian to think of all the horrible possibilities.

When she goes over to jump in, he follows and steps into the cool, shallow water. It's refreshing.]

[unanticipate]

[ Jyn moves her feet around, switching from one to the other in order to slide her foot through the water, cutting through the "stars". ]

All the more reason to try. You'll never know until you do.

[alltheway]

Mmm. [He leans in close to kiss her temple.

He needs to learn to let things go, he thinks. Most of his life he's spent holding a grudge against the Empire. But there's so much more he can do - so much more he should be doing.]

[unanticipate]

[ She smiles again at that, stopping and turning to face him fully. She moves in closer, hands raised to smooth back more of his damp hair. Both hands slowly sliding from the front and then to the back. ]

I mean, look at us. We're practically a living example of that adage, aren't we?

[alltheway]

We are. [He smiles, his hands coming to rest on her small waist. Leaning in close, he rubs his nose against hers.

There are no commanding officers or others around so he feels free enough to show affection - something he's never done before.]
