"Anakin..." His name was softly spoken, yet Padme had no doubt that he would hear it from where she stood in the shadows of the hallway. The war had taken him away from her for several weeks this time, and how her heart had leaped when she had seen him at the Senate meeting. Most of the Senators had left and she wasn't certain how long he would be back, or whether he could get away. She needed to see him, if even only for a few moments.

Meeting in the dark underbelly of the ship after midnight was definitely not Uhura's idea of a romantic time. But with her being a senior member of the crew and McCoy being Chief Medical Officer, they were both entirely too busy to exchange pleasantries during waking hours. Plus, after a difficult split from Spock, Uhura implemented a strict "no fraternization" policy.

Well. Semi-strict. Had she known that a stint in the sickbay after breaking her foot during an excursion would eventually lead to her and McCoy fooling around on the sly, she would have made it a point to trip over that exposed tree root a lot sooner.

As she weaved in and out of the pipes and machinery decorating the engine room, she kept her eyes peeled for the Good Doctor. Where was he? He knew the time and the place, and she hated to be kept waiting - especially down here. At the risk of drawing unwanted attention to herself, she backed herself into a corner and called out with a hushed tone, "Doctor? Are you down here?"

'If he stood me up...' She ventured several paces away from the wall, scanning the dimly-lit room for any signs of life aside from her own.

"Leonard?"
