[Overhead, a storm rages. The sky had been steel gray, the threat of rain persistent for the past three days on the planet. Cassian had chosen to ignore it, finding the dull colors a better cover than the a blue sky.

But now the sky had finally made good on its threat.]

[He tries not to scout too far ahead, but he has to maintain a distance to ensure their safety.]

We're not too far from safety!

There was always one. No matter how many millions of events, parties, and bartending gigs she worked Dani always encountered at least one person who absolutely didn't want to be there. Depending on the event more than one didn't want to be there but obligation made them stick around and pretend like they were having a good time.

Tonight, it was a charity event that needed a bartender last minute. It wasn't one of those quiet, sophisticated charity events either. Honestly, this thing was more like a nightclub. Everyone was dancing to techno and electronica while drinking every imaginable champagne cocktail and straight whiskey. Then again, this party was supposed to be one of Tony Stark's events and the guy had a reputation among catering services. The point was it was a pretty rocking night and the blond in the corner of the bar was absolutely miserable.

He was built like a tank and really tried his best to smile and make small talk but whenever Dani got close she felt waves of misery rolling off of him along with resignation. He was stuck here and he knew it. She felt bad for him because everyone around him was having fun and didn't seem to notice or he hid it really well from them.

Dani made a quick ginger ale cocktail and brought it over to him. "Here, on the house," she said, voice gentle and warm to maybe give him a friendly face. She couldn't pick up any actual want of alcohol from him, which was weird but it might have been drowned out by how he absolutely didn't want to be there.
