The year is 18...something-something. It's before cars, before airplanes, and before, if we're to believe movies and books, law and order were firmly put in order. The horse reigns supreme, though the train is an up-and-coming marvel, and that's where many people make their money- on both sides of "good" and "bad." Cowboys and bandits run the trails while they guard or steal cattle, and the lawmen can be just as crooked as the big bosses that own everything, from the cows to the mines in the stony hills. This is a hard land, a land for killing and a land for dying on the sandy ground. Everything drips red with blood, with little exception. Of course, there are places to find a little comfort. Such a place is Tumbleweed Tonya's infamous "cat house" brothel, the last stop before the open wilderness of the Broken Bird Trail, one of the most dangerous drives that leads all the way to Old Mexico through deserts and Indian territory. But you don't have to think so much about that at Tonya's. In a little enclave that includes a saloon and a mercantile shop, this little whorehouse is the best west of Texas. There's booze, good food, and, to be expected, good company. Tonya, a hardworn madame from back east who's surprisingly well-read, prides herself in keeping a menagerie fit for every taste, and she means every taste: there are young women, old women, Celestial maidens from the Far East, Indian maids, even men for those who enjoy a bit of masculine company. After all, she's not one to judge. Some even say that some of the workers may not be exactly...human. You've found yourself here. Maybe you're a worker here, trying to earn a few dollars with your body. You could be an honest cowboy, or a bandit hero, or the law itself. Why you're here can be just as varied. This may be your last ride and you're looking to share the last moments with someone. Perhaps you're a regular who just likes a good screw every now an then, an ordinary citizen who just got sucked up in all this, or someone involved in the blossoming crime world who does their business in a good ol' fashioned brothel. Worst of all, though, you could be someone who's in love with one of the workers and is trying to save him/her. That can only end in tragedy. Whatever the case may be, there are plenty of tokens to go around for those who have the money. Let your horse take a break, take a load off your feet, and enjoy some fun for a spell. Feel free to do as you like and do completely historical shenanigans, or play it fast and loose with something as varied as steampunk or sci-fi westerns. Of course, AU isn't completely necessary. Kiriko Shijima is one of the better sheriffs this side of the ocean. Hard-working, kind to good folks and rough on lawbreakers only as needed... Most folks do think that she's married to her job, what with her turning down most men's advances in order to keep the law and peace of the land.

But even she is human - a human with normal needs. Which is why one can find her at Tonya's at least once in a while. She doesn't drink heavily, or often, and she's not one for gambling. But there is one man, at least, who she's willing to call upon.

And as she steps into the place after a long ride, she's actually looking forward to spending some quality time with him.

... well, well, well, if it ain't his favorite customer. Jesse can't help but smirk when he sees her; it's been a while, and, honestly, he's kinda started to miss seeing her around.

"Well, howdy, there, ma'am." He tips his hat up to look down at her, smiling broadly, as he approaches her. "I was worried you'd found yourself a new ride. You lookin' for a good time tonight?"

Kiriko smiles up at him with joy and relief on her face. "Not likely, so long as my favorite gentleman is still around. Besides, it's always more difficult to break in a new ride."

Joking beside, though, she does gesture for him to join her at the table. He may have the same kind of work that most girls here have, but Kiriko always tries to treat him as a proper human being.

He joins her without a second thought, grin still firmly in place. Always so proper, wanting to enjoy his company as much as the rest of him... well, he can't really complain. After all, he does enjoy her company just as much.

"Oh, I ain't goin' anywhere in a hurry, believe you me. 'Sides, I wouldn't wanna break your lil' heart by disappearin'."

"I'm glad to hear that. I'm sure the others would be worried, too." Or at least, Tonya would be upset about it.

Still, Kiriko isn't completely proper about it, however. She's already gently rubbing one foot up against his in a teasing manner - gently-like, as a lady would do.

"How have things been since I was last here? Anything new?"

His smile only broadens at that, and he moves to sit just a little bit more closely, leaning in over the table.

"'Bout the same. Things don't change much around here, really... lucky for us, we got regulars like yourself keepin' things interesting." He reaches over to brush a bit of hair behind her ear, a purely affectionate gesture; a muted way to initiate skin-to-skin contact.

Kiriko grins as she leans into his fingers, her foot slowly working higher up his leg.

"That's nice to hear...though I wouldn't mind a couple of change if it's to help everyone."

His hand lingers there, lightly, fingers tracing over her jaw; they go to linger just beneath her chin, tipping her face to meet his.

He smiles.

"Well, I don't think any of us would complain if you decided to bring some fresh blood in with you. Or maybe just robbed a bank or somethin' to liven things up."

"Fresh blood would be better. I think I've had my fill of rogue for one month."

And then she eyes him over, even as he tilts her face towards his. "Well...maybe one more tonight wouldn't be so bad...especially if he's kind enough to help brush off the road's dust."

"Hmm, I think I know somebody who could help you with that." He leans in, lightly brushing his lips over hers; an almost romantic gesture, to those who don't know his role.

Or maybe even to those who do. He does so enjoy her company.

She leans into the kiss, letting a tiny moan slip out of her throat. Once he pulls away, a rare and bright smile lights up her face.

"Very well...see that he joins me in my room later on."
