002. friend: you and your biffle, or even your newly acquainted friend, are hanging. now it is time for a nose boop.
003. enemy: you're in the middle of an argument or an actual fight with the enemy. a nose boop is obviously the best distraction tactic.
004. partner: you're being schmoopy with the object of your affections. boops on the nose are one way in which you do so.
005. other: the wildcard option. boop away.

[Lance isn't exactly sure what they're bickering about this time. It's just, well, arguing for the sake of arguing. That's been their thing from day one. It isn't anything serious, and neither of them are actually angry at each other. But old habits die hard.

There's a point where Lance ends up running out of snarky comments and stupid one-liners, and unable to think of anything else, he leans in and boops Keith on the nose with his finger.]

( There's a certain kind of emotional high and distinct gratification for having pulled off his programme as well as he had, as flawlessly as he had, as world record breaking as he had, that Yuri's definitely still walking with an extra spring in his step (and a degree too much of validation in his own ability, though he's somewhat aware of that much). Yakov and Lilia aren't far down and around the corner, but just far enough that he's out of their line of sight. Which is fine, he tends to find his own space in small moments before he's back on track and being watched over to make sure he's keeping focused, but there's nothing else on for the day, and it's closer to time to head back out and unwind before mentally prepping for the free skate tomorrow.

He's actually hoping to run into JJ, and not even to gloat. In fact, gloating's nowhere near the front of his mind — some irritation is, more for how JJ had let all the pressure hit him and drag him down and thus hadn't competed at his top form — and to a degree, that felt like getting cheated out of a good, fair fight. Even when that kind of reality is the nature of the sport; if it's not nerves or anxiety, jumps get missed, presentation lacks, Things Happen.

Yet things happening doesn't prevent Yuri from having Opinions, which is why JJ will find himself confronted by the younger teen shoving his index and pointer fingers in his face, getting up into his personal space. )

What the hell was that?

( He misjudges the distance and catches himself, just not without having near jabbed his fingers into JJ's face. He still makes contact, eyebrow twitching as he ends up two-finger bopping JJ's nose. His glare doesn't waver while his fingers stay there a whole second. In fact, he's just going to jerk his hand back and pretend that didn't happen as he keeps talking. It was totally intentional. He was nose... bop... poking a rival to... focus... him? (Hell if he knows.) )

You better be pulled back together by tomorrow, jackass.

( He's not even pretending to try and pep talk. He just wants a better fight on all counts when it comes to taking podium. That he's also facing some lingering irritation over having to hear an entire crowd sing JJ's song and watch him go that's JJ style after being shell-shocked in the Kiss and Cry is a whole other shrugged off situation. He's got priorities! (More or less.) )

[ things hadn't gone well in yuri's free skate. the chances of him actually taking gold are slim to none at this point, though if he's lucky he'll still manage the bronze.

he feels surprisingly okay. maybe it just hasn't hit him yet or maybe it's because bronze is pretty damn good after coming back from the previous year's devastating loss. victor looks like he's taking it harder than yuri is; he's sat in a corner with his head lowered, so yuri decides to try to cheer him up with a silly gesture that's come to be something meaningful: the head pat.

yuri reaches out with his index finger to tap the top of victor's head but just as he's about to, victor looks up and yuri accidentally boops that beautiful snoot before he can stop himself.
