[It is possible for pen pals to become best friends, and Clark Kent would be the first to admit that. It had started as a sociology project his freshman year in college - choosing a random email address from a list and writing to that person - and grew into a multi-year friendship that spanned thousands of miles and what feels like too many years to count. It's rare that a week goes by without a letter or email (which is the likelier form of communication these days) from one or the other, and he always looks forward to whatever smartass comments she sends about their topic of the week.

He's also been promising to visit in person for a long time, but with the nature of his work something always comes up. Well. Today Kitty has a little surprise. Having flown into LaGuardia earlier, and taking one of the trains out to Westchester, Clark talked one of the local shop owners into giving him directions to the school where she lives and walked the rest of the way. He's deliberately staying out of camera range, already on his cell and waiting for her to pick up hers.]

[It's one of those normal days, the ones where Lovi barges in unannounced to Alfred's place, and the first thing he does is raid his kitchen and make snacks. Good snacks. Ones that he likes to think make up for his rash behavior and the more that one fall-outs he's caused. Right now he's waiting for a nice batch of torrone to cool off, after once again kicking Alfred out of the kitchen and ignoring any earlier plans he had. It's the bastard's fault for not planning around the constant possibility of Lovi showing up. And the other thing to note is that today, he's lazing about with a nice bottle of wine. Which usually means he's had a bad day. But if he's sitting, it at least means Alfred's allowed back into the room. Hopefully he doesn't try to eat the pastries before they cool properly.]
