There’s something dark and foreboding about the Underworld, but its ruler is calm and just and fair, doing their job to the letter and no more. They are not cruel, though they are lonely. When they find the light of their life things change: they fall in love instantly, but perhaps the target of their affections doesn’t feel the same way immediately. Perhaps they do and are proving to themselves that they’re making the right decision. In any case there’s a courtship, a drawing in toward the darkness. The darkness that is overtaken and outshone by this newcomer, birthed of strength and full of sun and life and sharp wit and ruthlessness. They can cause life to be drawn from the deadest of soil but can in turn be vicious and petty and frightening. All this and they have eaten the seeds that bind them to the Underworld. Hades and their spouse Persephone make quite the pair.
WHO ARE YOU
1. HADES Your place is the Underworld. You’ve ruled for eons as the god(dess) of your domain, and you’re well-respected for your work ethic if not for your personality. You’re a bit awkward but well-meaning and you’re quite capable of love at first sight, which is what happens when you see your Persephone. You’re drawn to them, love them, are willing to do anything you can for them. It’s not you that rules over them - they rule over you. 2. PERSEPHONE You are fire and ice and anger and bright bubbling laughter and a thorn among roses. You are the god(dess) of vegetation and things grow happily under your fingertips but you are fierce and protective and none shall cross you. People are too frightened to speak your real name lest they draw your ire upon themselves. You ate of the fruit of the Underworld and now you’re tied here, but it’s not likely you mind it in the least. Perhaps you were stolen away. Perhaps you jumped into Hades’ chariot on your own. 3. OTHER Are you Persephone’s parent Demeter trying to convince them to come home? Hermes, sent to retrieve them? Thanatos, the personification of death?
TYPE OF SCENARIO
1. LITERAL You’re literally in the Underworld. Like, Hell. Seriously. There’s not much to be said for it, really. What else can we possibly say? 2. METAPHORICAL While you’re not literally in Hell, it may seem like it. Perhaps it’s the criminal underworld. Perhaps you’re getting drawn into a life you would otherwise not have considered.
As always, these are just suggestions. We’re not the meme cops. Make up anything you want, as long as you're having fun!
[The last thing Arden remembered was a woman coming towards him. She had been quite beautiful. That was the last thought he had before darkness had claimed him. When he had awoken, he was somewhere...else. As a Reaper, he'd spent enough time sending people into the afterlife to know when he was there himself. She'd brought him here. But he wasn't dead. There was no tremor in his voice when he spoke, even though there was fear in his heart.]
[ I was just thinking about this the other day! Can be either role, depending on the partner - "You’re a bit awkward but well-meaning and you’re quite capable of love at first sight" is very Yuri, so he might work best as Hades (stealing everyone's favourite away from them? yep). ]
[ Ahh! ♥ I would love having Victor as Persephone, that makes total sense. I'm not sure if I want to go totally literal with it, but maybe we could do some sort of AU? I really want to explore the idea of people hating on Yuri for stealing Victor away from them, and Victor himself being sweet on the surface but ferociously in love underneath and that coming out to play.
We could keep it in the figure skating world or have them be in a totally different universe of some sort - let me know if you have any ideas/etc that you want to try! Sorry for the tl;dr x-x ]>

[ I think it might be easiest to go the literal route for now, and play up the aspect of other people commenting on all of Yuri's/Viktor's social media & the internet in general + the media/paparazzi making a Big Deal of it. Then we can go through how Yuri & Viktor deal with the whole thing - including copious amounts of fluff & angst. What do you think? ]
[If we're talking literal, Cloud could feasibly be either role, but metaphorical, the Persephone. Could of course be some other intended to try and fetch the ~poor victim~ and getting in trouble that way too. m/m for shipping.]
[Perhaps an AU where Genji is picked up by Talon instead of Overwatch, and he's eventually tasked with eliminating her but instead, he falls in love with her?]
