The (Possibly Awkward) Dating Meme
Dating is, when you think about, really weird. It's a totally different thing for different people. Some are friends for years before they date; others start dating on the same day they met. Sometimes, there's a lot mushy stuff involved; other times, the couple acts just like friends. None of this is necessarily right or wrong.
Whatever it is, your character and the character you reply to are now dating. How? That's up to you. Whether it be awkward or not, the relationship will be uniquely theirs.

1. Best Friends to More: Oh, wow, you've been this person's friend forever! But then you realize you have feelings for them, and they for you. Will things change when you change your status?

Taichi has been waiting patiently under the willow tree in the corner of the courtyard, their usual monthly meeting spot. Off to the side as it is, with its leaves hanging down to shield them from view, it's served its purpose well over the course of their hidden courtship. Being a servant for the shogunate has its advantages; such as being able to explore the place and find all sorts of nooks and crannies.
His head darts up, though, when the leaves rustle and part to reveal the princess he's been waiting for, and Taichi's heart leaps towards his throat, joy making his smile warm and wide.]

[ Maybe that's just to be expected. There isn't nearly as much emotional baggage between them. And Kyoko isn't part of anything remotely like the fiercely protective friendship that almost always connects Mami, Madoka, and Sayaka, which makes it harder for suspicious outsiders like Homura to tell them what to do. ]
[ Compared to that, it's much easier for the time traveler to come to an understanding with Kyoko. Especially in this particular timeline: they're in an alliance of convenience, between two magical girls who find it weak, distasteful, or simply difficult to rely on others. Over time, and with Homura's basic knowledge of what makes Kyoko tick, that gradually shifted into a give-and-take relationship coaxed along by food and board- but that's only to be expected. Sure, they may also have gotten used to fighting side-by-side- or even to each other's presence- but that's hardly anything to worry about, either. ]
[ What Homura hadn't considered, however, was how others might see the two of them and how much time they seem to spend together. So here at this buffet restaurant, the black-haired girl sits across from Kyoko, staring into the middle distance as she tries to wrap her mind around the various off-handed comments and rumors she's suddenly been getting from the other girls at her school. ]
