Wing meme

Wings for everybody!

No, really, it's like Oprah on a bender, everyone gets a pair! They can be feathery, leathery, tattered, pristine, made out of glitter, feathers, tissue paper or star-stuff.

The only limit is your imagination (and reference pics, if that's your thing)

Maybe your character has always had their wings, maybe they just woke up with them for the first time this morning like an odd take on Gregor Samsa, it's entirely up to you.

Eliot's wings were the warm russet-brown of a bird of prey, and had the same curvature as an owl's wings. Silent and deadly as the rest of him.

Apollo's wings were mostly black, sleek and well-tended, though they were shot through here and there with veins of purple and blue, usually only visible in the sunlight.

Dutch's wings were those of a red-winged blackbird, which was to say mostly black, aside from the patches of red at the joint.

Iggy's already got wings, big ones.

Some kind of parakeet's wings, yellow and orange and flecked with green. About as badly-cared-for as the rest of him.

Max didn't remember where the wings had come from, or if he'd always had them, all he knew was that sometime, a long time ago, they'd been clipped, so the sand-colored things weren't good for much except shade from the sun and warmth in the night.

Her wings are the pinky-gray of a mourning dove.

One would think that Steve Rogers would have an eagle's wings. One would be wrong, they're white. Nearly incandescently so, and strong enough to lift even his muscle mass.

[ooc: always a thing, got enhanced via the serum just like the rest of him, grew due to the serum, random addition via a new enemy, whatever]

John's got the wings of a barn owl, complete with the rounded silent-flight feathers and the speckles and all.

Tawny and mottled, usually well-kept and tidy. Some kind of bird of prey for sure.

He's already got wings, they're a common pigeon's wings. Usually they're invisible, because angel.

At some point, he'd come out of stasis with wings, massive and black like a raven or a vulture, and the scarring along his back and shoulders from where they'd been grafted on.

He also had minimal knowledge of how to use them, reflex the same as any other limb. Hydra had, apparently, decided to make him a literal angel of death.

They were flexible enough, barely, to be hidden under a jacket, as long as he ignored how badly it made them and his shoulders cramp up to do so.

Newt's wing tattoos weren't tattoos at all, they were, in fact, wings. It was just that she never used them anymore, so it was easier to keep them pressed down flat, thin and leathery as they were, to give the impression of tattoos instead.

Eggsy's wings were wasp's wings, easily hidden, if necessary, but he popped them out to go for a low flight now and again, just so he didn't forget how.

Her wings are a rich jewel-toned purple-blue, usually just relaxed over her shoulders like some kind of cape.

Gabreel's wings were the rusty orange-brown of a wood duck, and well-kept. Sleek and smooth as his hair usually was. They suited him well.

Mottled, tawny and well-kept. Definitely some kind of bird of prey.

In the surgery to repair her burns, they'd also given her a Mockingjay's wings, she hadn't even realized at first, too delirious from pain and from painkillers.

They'd turned her into a mutt, made her visible proof of their symbol, and then they'd locked her away in the tower, probably as some sort of cautionary tale, even she wasn't sure. All she knew was that as she slowly came back to herself in her captivity, she also slowly learned to use the wings, stretching and folding them, certain that she'd be able to fly if she could ever get out.

More like a moth's wings than a bird's, they can fold down over her shoulders and back to act as insulation and shield against the sun. A dusty golden-brown, like the shifting sands that became her home.

Baby's wings were big and occasionally on fire (when not on fire, they still looked like glowing embers or char)

Huge matte black things that make him look imposing. He usually keeps them tucked down close against his shoulders to minimize this effect as best he can.

He can fly anything to make up for the fact that he lost his own wings.

[ooc: He either cut them off himself as a sign of mourning when his mother died (she had them too, it's where he got them from) or he was with her when she died, engine malfunction in her A-Wing, and his own wings were so badly damaged they had to be surgically removed, or for maximum ow: they were removed as part of his interrogation on the Finalizer.]

well okay then...

He did have some, but they've since been burnt up to prove a point. He'll never admit to missing them.
