1. Feeling Strange: You've known this person your entire life, yet lately you've been feeling...different about them. These feelings aren't exactly familial, either.
2. Not as Normal Families: Whatever the specifics of the case may be, your childhood was not the norm, and thus the two of you have grown close that way.
3. Raised Apart: Scientists believe that when siblings are raised together under normal circumstances, they will not find each other sexually attractive; however, if they are reared apart, they may be highly attracted to each other when they meet as adults.
4. Only Kin by Name: Psuedo-incest between step siblings or adopted siblings is not quite as taboo, but you could still be looked down upon for harboring those desires for someone who is a member of your family by one way or another.
5. Defender: One of you is older and has always looked after the other, meaning that something has grown between you that is thicker than any blood.

Anyway I suddenly just had this dumb idea of tossing Ornstein here at Pyrrha because they're both redheaded spear wielders. I apologize in advance at only having four icons with an actual face since the rest is his iconic armor.

I'm definitely more than happy to tweak things to have him be a Hunter in Remnant (Possibly sole survivor of his Team as per his base canon) or another AU that might suit your fancy. Either way I figure him possibly as a somewhat protective if aloof older brother. If you're interested, do you have a scenario in mind?]}

_{[Once again the Vytal Festival has come again and for many this was likely going to be one of the few chances ever to be had to test their mettle against Hunters from far and wide. Unfortunate circumstances for one of the teams of course meant that a last minute substitution had to be made.

Ornstein walked into the arena with measured steps, the sound of metal rattling softly with every movement he made. Given the existence of Aura, armor was probably more of a hindrance with its weight... yet there were traditions to be upheld for some. Despite its intricate appearance however it was more than ornamental given the few dents and marks that could not be removed from the brilliant golden surface no matter how much work had been put into it. Weapon in one hand, a lion-faced helm in the other he eventually came to a stop.]}

_{[As he spoke her name Ornstein couldn't shake a sense of familiarity about the huntress from Mistral. Something about the feeling felt more than just seeing a face somewhere on a billboard or on a cereal box, and simply more than knowing of her reputation. Meeting her in person for the first time... looking at that face,... those eyes... the sense of deja vu curled deep almost into his blood. Ornstein took a steadying breath though, raising the lugged spear in salute.]}

It is an honor to be able to face someone of your reputation here... Whatever the outcome of this fight, may the best hunter win.

[Pyrrha has always made a point not to get overconfident, not to underestimate an opponent. She can't, however, stop the flicker of disappointment when she spots the heavy armor covering her opponent. All she had to do was get in close enough to touch his chestplate and it was over. Not...much of a challenge, all things considered.

The helm was impressive, and Pyrrha's gaze passed over the intricacies with interest. Something about the way her opponent held himself gave her a strange sense of deja vu, but she pushed it aside, grip flexing on her weapon and shield. Her hair swayed lightly against her back, pulled tight in a high ponytail, kept out of her way.]

Thank you for your kind words, Ornstein. [Pyrrha repeated his name carefully, wanting to make sure she had the pronunciation right. It was not of her kingdom's origins, so she was unfamiliar with the root.] I wish you the best of luck, warrior.

_{[There was the smallest of smiles before his face resumed its calm, neutral expression. Donning the helm, the long red mane of hair Ornstein had extruded from its rear like a brilliant plume of red.]}

It will be more than luck that decides this battle... but I thank you regardless. Now...

_{[Ornstein swept the spear across the air, his stance firm and ready for battle. His body tense and ready to spring into action as soon as the call for battle was raised.]}

[The red hair piques interest - it's nearly as bright as hers, perhaps a shade or two darker? Pyrrha pushes that from her mind as well, not wanting to be caught off guard thinking about her opponent's hair, of all things to be distracted by.

Pyrrha simply nodded, slipping into a half-crouch, Miló and Akoúo at her disposal. She twirled Miló in her hand slowly, emerald eyes fixed on Ornstein, analyzing his every movement. The countdown began on the screen above them, their aura levels displayed for the stadium crowd.]

_{[Three seconds. Counting down... he could ill afford to keep the pace of the battle too slow. Two seconds... range wasn't an advantage he'd have on this fight either... One second... no wasted movements. He'd have to make everything count.

The moment the call to begin roared into the air Ornstein took a single, thunderous leap forward - springing through the air like a pouncing lion and far more mobility than his armor belied.

His mind quickly slid through tactics... a downwards thrust against an opponent with her mobility would be ill advised - she could easily roll under the strike, pushing it away with her shield before countering... so he settled for a massive sweep, seeking to put Pyrrha on the defensive.]}

[If he's heard anything about her, he must have heard that she's fast. Fast, lithe, and exceptionally precise in her attacks. Her aura-hit ratio has been off the charts for the entire tournament thus far - she's definitely not to be underestimated.

Pyrrha brandished Miló, unphased by the attack - or, at the very least, holding her ground. She pushed Akoúo into the strike, taking the hit and glancing it off the shield. She made to attempt her own strike, slashing downwards with Miló.]

_{[There were no doubts that she lived up to how much talk everyone had about her. The counter with the shield meant that Ornstein would have to take longer to prepare another attack... not to mention it would be much more difficult to defend himself. From his leap it meant that his defensive options would be extremely limited, dodging would be near impossible...

So he doesn't. He would take a hit to his aura but his armor might possibly mitigate some of the blow as he slammed his forearm into the incoming strike!]}

Your resolve... is strong..!

_{[That being said however he was definitely faster than he looked under all that armor, doing his best to push Miló aside and unleash a lightning quick leg sweep!]}

[Pyrrha smiles grimly when he takes the blow with his forearm - he's fast, though still a tank, certainly, but Pyrrha had patience. If this was what it took to wear him down, she would employ that strategy and do her best to outlast. She is impressed by his speed, though, especially with that armor...

The leg sweep doesn't give her much time to think, but Pyrrha rolls with it, landing on a one-handed backspring to avoid the blow that was sure to follow, and hopefully put some distance between them. She fights better with distance, dipping in for close hand to hand before flitting backwards again.]
