You've seen The Morning After, and the Build-Up, and even the Mid-Fuck memes. But what about the moment after characters have done the deed? Do they cuddle or light up a cigarette? Go for seconds or reflect on what just happened? Hop into the shower to wash away their sins? Regret everything?

Well, we'll find out, won't we?

[He frowns slightly at her words. There's an impulsive side to him, which is new, that wants to just call off work and hang out with her all day but that wouldn't be fair to Assistant Kang or any of the other people who work for him. He has a commitment.

It's not that he doesn't enjoy his work anymore, he does, it's just he enjoys her more.]

I will be. And then next week I'll have to go away for a couple of days for a business trip.

[He leans down to press a kiss against her forehead. he brushes some of her hair back to look at her better.]

You won't miss me too terribly, will you?

Of course I am going to miss you.

[ Her smile wilts a little, but it can't be helped. Of course she will miss him - there's not a single thing she won't miss about her hopeless, hard-working boyfriend. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, and besides, it's work. She wouldn't want him neglecting work again. ]

It's natural for a couple to miss each other if they are apart, right? But I'll be okay! So please don't worry about me, and do your best like always. And when you get back... [ Face lighting up and oh, there's no point in being sad now. She'll be sad when he's gone. ] I'll think of something nice to welcome you with.

Perhaps someday he could find a way to work it into the budget, or at the very least plan on a vacation for them to take together.]

Oh? [His eyebrow quirks at that and he decides to dwell on her presence now instead of the absence of her in the future.]

[ Ah, he's curious. She likes that of him. ... Well, she likes most of him - ah, although even his bad things are cute in a certain way; she likes the effort he puts in improving, likes the effort he puts in everything.

He does like spoiling her too much.

No longer does he feel the anxiety that every time he leaves she'll disappear on him. She's safe here. She wants to be with him. She is his, and he is hers in equal measure.

He presses a kiss against her bare shoulder as he considers for a moment before answering]

Perhaps you could wear that new dress I bought you? I'm curious to see how that shade of red looks on you.

[ They simply find too much comfort in the same things. Parting for days and even weeks is painful, but there is something very precious in seeing his face appear through the door, all the day's exhaustion disappearing for the seconds it takes him to look at her and smile.

Yeah, she likes that the most - greeting him back to the home they make together. ]

Ah~ If that's what you want, then I'll do it. I have something new for you too, so it's only fair.

[ She still can't get completely used to to the gifts, but the expression on his face when he sees her donning them is pleasing. So it's not a bad thing, to indulge him like this every now and then, right? ]

[there is nothing more welcoming than coming home to her, to knowing that he can leave without any anxiety, because she would never abandon him. she might leave and do things like anyone would want to, but they both come back to this same place, this constant between them.

he doesn't have to be alone anymore. this isn't just his place anymore but theirs, the home they created together. and he loves it almost as much as he loves her.

[he tries to dial it back, not buying her as many things as he did at first, he doesn't want to overwhelm or control her, but he thinks of her all the time and he can't help himself -- sometimes he sees something and it's just perfect for her.]

[ Ah, she looks so pleased, too! This is good for him too, right? Not getting what he wants right away. It builds character! Zen will be really proud! But most important, the face he makes when she teases is cute.

She drops a kiss to his jaw before sitting up, without a trace of shame on her. Before getting sleepy, before getting distracted - if she doesn't braid her hair now, it'll be a hideous mess tomorrow. ]
