That's something you should be commended for. Not many would be able to show such resolve. In addition to keeping away from sexual contact, though, you must also shy away from emotional intimacy - so, romance. That may seem easy at first, as all you really need in life is your determination, but what happens when you find the one after you've already swore you'd never pursue them?

i am actually jumping on board with 1 and 2 because training to become a master is so much more important than any other level of social graces, so i really don't think it would have even remotely crossed her mind until she was blindsided with it. smacked upside the face with it, so to speak. some 9 because they are all a family, and it would be selfish to want something that could potentially take away from that, even if it would really be the case.

but i'm definitely in the boat for 13 and 15, on however deep a level you'd like to go. derp. there's my novel. )

If there's been one good thing about being in Asgard, it's that there's been plenty of chances for Jamie to make friends. Good ones, like Ghanima. She's been there as long as he can remember, from the first time they'd talked over the bracelet through his subsequent romance and break-up with Clara. They've talked together, fought together, dealt with all the strange happenings in Asgard together...and now, apparently, they're going to cook together.

Or, at least, Jamie's going to do his best to talk her into helping him out, which is why he's standing on her doorstep holding an armful of groceries with an expression that's about three steps away from outright pleading on his face.

"Look, I don't mean to bother you, but the Doctor's pulled our stove apart and turned into...och, I don't even know. But I've got to get these things made and I've nothing to cook them on. Can I borrow your kitchen for a wee bit?"

Ghani really isn't what one might call domestic, though she does know how to cook. If she reached far enough into her Other Memory she could probably even find knowledge about how to cook well.

Even so, someone wanting to use her kitchen is not a problem at all, since that means someone else will be doing the cooking in there, thus sparing her from the in her opinion rather uninspiring task.

"Of course, come in."

There's a distinct look of relief on his face as he steps inside - and a bit of gratitude as well, something that winds up manifesting in a very brief smile once he's through the door.

"Remind me next time someone asks me to bake a pie to say no, though. Should've known better than to agree when the Doctor's in a tinkering mood. Say, don't suppose you'd like to lend a hand with it, would you? The faster I can get this going the faster I can get out of your hair."

"I can't say I possess a wealth of experience when it comes to making pies, but I am willing to attempt it."

She gives him a teasing little smile.

"Though if you wanted my company you could have just said so."

"Oh, aye, is that so? Good to know, then."

He could be talking about baking, but he's not - and even though he's starting to head towards the kitchen, he can't help but glance back over his shoulder, the corners of his mouth twitching for a moment before curling into a smile.

"And what if I wanted your company but wanted to see what happens when you wind up with a wee bit of flour on your nose? Don't think you'd have just said yes to to that one."

She closes the door, shaking her head a little as she follows him to the kitchen.

"What happens is that there is flour on my nose. No more, no less."

"Aye, you say that now. But we'll see."

And with that said, he sets the bag of groceries down, and starts to pull the pie makings out of it. From the looks of it, it's going to be a savory pie, not a sweet one, but the basics are more or less the same - even though there's no signs of flour being set out to be used just yet.

"Do you have a mixing bowl I could borrow? Or something I could use to put these things together once I've got them chopped up, maybe? Unless you'd help there, but I'm thinking we still need something to put the meat in."

Ghanima's kitchen is not the most well-stocked imaginable, but luckily she does manage to find a few mixing bowls.

"Ah, here we are."

She takes the bowls out and gives them a quick rinse to get the dust off of them (an obvious sign of their lack of use) and sets them down on the counter for Jamie.
