It's good to be gone. The people she left must learn to live without her. Sine forgot them for a time, lost and amazed that everything on Earth was alive and changing, how death gave so much...

She didn't shiver in the evening air. Walking barefoot to the lakefront, dress and tattered trails flicking in the sharp wind, Sine stops and looks up. Where Saturn would be.

This lady, absurdly tall, dressed in black and bones, opens her hand and a sickle forms to it, a great crescent blade she swings--

The wind stops. The water quiets, a far helicopter hushed. Every breath, every heart around her silenced. Then she lets go. Sound, all the little things resume.

She won't pretend she'll reach them. But she tried.

[ The sky is absolutely beautiful. It's the piece of sky that artists wait forever to sketch, and writers desperately try to memorize so they can pull every ounce of power from the stars, gathering the night sky for the ink their pens.

It may be viewed as silly, but this sort of thing isn't for Rene. Tom, he's sure, is watching it with his poet's heart. Probably Neil, too, though he'll never admit it. A meteor shower, right above their heads. Right near Camp X, there are things from the sky gently falling. It's ethereal, he thinks, and there's no point in watching from the barracks. Nights as clear and nice as this deserve to be wandered around in.

Or maybe he's just too much of a quiet dreamer type. One who enjoys silly things like meteor showers way too much. He's completely unsurprised to see Harry atop the same hill he'd been eyeing, and is even less surprised to see he'd been there for a while. He probably anticipated it. ]

( even in japan, there’s a appreciation for the sky and all that comes with it. more often than not shiemi would stare in awe at the pink morning sky, pastels of blues and other heavenly tones setting the scene for a magnificent day.

but it was night now, and she heard rumors that there would be a very expansive and much anticipated meteor shower going on in a certain part of tokyo, nearby the beach. after asking her mother’s permission, who warily said yes, she biked her way towards her destination with all the energy of an excited schoolgirl could muster.

as she reached the shore, she could already hear the waves lapping and the tide crashing, but she spots a cluster of people already gathered in one particular spot — some lying on blankets, others in couples staring at the twinkling skies in hopes for a wish, or wishes, to be granted.

leaning on her bike, shiemi stares intensely, her lips pursed as she randomly thought of wishes for this extraordinary moment.

but she cannot think of a single one. )

I don’t know what to wish for.
