Hold you so gently in my hands

( surprisingly gentle )
Because is there anything better than a dangerous, potentially deadly stoic whose one weakness is their sweet, harmless object of affection? Especially if the latter has the former wrapped around their finger, knowingly or otherwise.

To avoid tl;dr - suddenly, a wild bae approaches! Their attempt to turn you into a puddle of goo at the knees, whether purposeful or not, is very effective.

Bless her boss. For once, he's got to agree with the man. Frank would thank him in person if it wouldn't land him into some big trouble. Not everyone can be trusted, even journalists on his side. Well, on Karen's side.

Curious, Frank goes to look at what she's talking about only to find some relief in his disbelief, laughing quietly. "Trying to tell me something? Thought you liked it."

Karen remembers when she didn't trust Ellison, thought he was on Fisk'a payroll. She doesn't trust easily either, especially not other journalists. Now, though, she knows that he has her back.

"I like the hair. You still look like a mountain man, though." She walks over to collect the case, reaching out to brush some of his hair from his forehead. "If you trust me with a straight razor."

Just the fact that she's touching him with an inkling of affection is a relief these days when things have been so strained. He doesn't like having walls between them as friends or lovers and he's frustrated with his own inability to make her feel safe these days. He reminds himself that the tough times are inevitable with his lifestyle and Karen is fully aware of that. She's still standing with him, isn't she?

"I do," he confirms, more serious than she meant it. "I trust you with anything."

And then he pulls out a chair to sit, slouching a bit. "Beards are a pain in the ass to take care of anyway."

Karen feels a surge of affection warming anything of the cold left, her fingertips lingering before he moves away. He says that, and she knows that he means it, is deadly serious. It heartens her to hear. They can get to where they were.

She smirks. "Technically, I guess we should wait until No-Shave November is over, but...we're not hipsters, so fuck that." Karen moves around, getting the shaver ready, before she grabs a towel to clip around Frank. It's a good thing she's got tile floor in her kitchen. "Max better not come over to play with your hair." She starts the shaver, setting it to start taking down his beard.

The mention of No-Shave November earns a scoff. It's stuff like that Frank doesn't even hear about until talking with Karen, grounding him to reality again. There is a whole world out there beyond his mission but some days it's difficult to recognize.

"He's not a cat," he mutters when she starts to trim around his mouth, barely moving his lips. It's true when he said he trusts her. Frank has no reason to think otherwise. "More likely to eat one of your shoes if you leave 'em out."

"Sorry," Karen smirks softly, trying to concentrate on taking that incredible beard down to the skin, at least short enough so that she can shave him properly. The gentle hum of the shaver vibrates Karen's hand, somewhat tickling, and she chuckles. "He better not eat my shoes. I've gotten most of them broken in." Of course she's not serious. Max is a great dog.

Once she's done, she wipes his face and then considers him. "Did you want to...leave any of the hair?" She looks at his mop, feeling a little twinge. She sort of likes it, especially now that he's not got the beard.
