Hold you so gently in my hands

( surprisingly gentle )
Because is there anything better than a dangerous, potentially deadly stoic whose one weakness is their sweet, harmless object of affection? Especially if the latter has the former wrapped around their finger, knowingly or otherwise.

To avoid tl;dr - suddenly, a wild bae approaches! Their attempt to turn you into a puddle of goo at the knees, whether purposeful or not, is very effective.

He stands, walking over and holding out his hand to her.

Mary puts her hand in his and shakes it. "Now, will you join me for tea? Or will you continue to be aloof towards me?" She hopes the former, that she might be able to use her charm on him, banking on the hope that he finds her beautiful.

He gives her another boggled look, spreading his arms.

"We've agreed on a ransom. A new price. You don't want to call your father immediately?"

"Oh, well, if you're going to let me, then by all means. Business first, apparently."

She stands up, close to him now as her eyes rake over his face. "Is it that you struggle when a woman flirts with you, or are you simply uninterested in flirting at all?" Some men men just aren't.

Instead of answering, he goes over to the door to the hallway, sticking his head out. He has a quick, murmured conversation, too quiet to be overheard - but then, instead of leaving, he closes the door and turns back to Mary.

"I am, right now, acting as a businessman. You are a hostage - or a negotiator, if you like. I am not gonna flirt with you. Yeah? End of."

Mary raises her hands in defeat and sits back down. So much for that occupying her time. She picks up her cup of tea and sips at it, waiting for him to tell her what to do next.

Perhaps she's been here too long and is starting to be brainwashed by her captors. Mary had heard that something like that could happen.

"Now. Are you still offering that tea?" he asks, sitting back down in the chair.
thequitecontrary: (sitting - couch)

"Finished with business for now, then?" She pouts about this being on his terms, but then, she is not in charge here. It's something that irritates her. Still, she turns over another cup and pours the tea into it.
