Team Tension

Ideally, a team works like a well-oiled machine, with all the cogs existing in harmony. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that two team members hating each other could easily lead to disaster. But have you ever considered the consequences of two team members liking each other...too much? Love or attraction can be a dangerous force, even when you're on the same side. Can you both be professional? Or is this a reason somebody needs to make a "no intra-team dating" rule?

"Team" is pretty loose here. Superhero team, sports team, debate team, #squadgoals, I don't care.

[It was a weird thing, having Ronan Lynch around. Prokopenko never knew just how he was supposed to feel. There was the way he used to feel. Before. But now everything is more intense and jumbled up there. He has his feeling and then Kavinsky's feelings nagging at him in the back of his head. He tried to cut them out once, but that didn't go so well.

When he sees Ronan, his feeling vacillate wildly from anger, to jealousy, to extreme curiosity, which is why he's just standing there against his car, watching Ronan intently, probably boring a hole through his skull with his gaze. Kavinsky is off somewhere nearby, Proko can feel him, probably watching Ronan as well. He's trying hard not to care]

[Ronan had never given Prokopenko much thought to be honest. Kavinsky was...well, Kavinsky was distracting. His presence demanded attention and Prokopenko tended to fade into the background. Ronan did know that they were a packaged deal or seemed to be. Wherever K was, his lackey would be close behind.

Ronan had been looking for K. He knew he shouldn't have come here. He could hear Gansey's voice in the back of his head, always. "I told you to stay away from him, Ronan. He's nothing but trouble." All the chastising and warnings and hurt looks just egged him on, fueled the incessant fire in his chest. He needed to get out and drive or dream or do something reckless.

Feeling eyes on him, he looks up to find Prokopenko staring a hole through his skull. He can't quite decipher the look on his face and Ronan feels the jolt of adrenaline pump through his veins. K must be nearby.

When Proko doesn't look away, Ronan sneers and makes his way over, Chainsaw perched loyally on his shoulder.

"Why don't you take a picture? It'll last longer."

((That's okay! I'm sorry it took me so long to respond! I'm supposed to get email alerts when I get a reply but it's spotty. Oh no! I feel your pain! My paid account ran out a few months ago. I'm still crying about it lol))

Prokopenko would smirk at how annoyed Ronan gets when he doesn't look away, but he's not in a smirking mood right now. He doesn't know what kind of mood he's in, actually. All he knows is that for once, he just wants to do something Kavinsky wouldn't approve of, even if it gets him in a shit ton of trouble.

So when Ronan and his stupid bird make his way over, he stands up a little straighter, crossing his arms lightly over his chest. "I don't have to. Your fucking ugly face is always around these days. Don't you have anything better to do?"

"Nice one. Did Kavinsky tell you to say that?" Ronan ran a finger over the smooth feathers along Chainsaw's throat before she took off into a nearby tree or something.

So be it. Ruffling Prokopenko's feathers was more fun anyway. He had always wondered what the deal was with Prokopenko and K. Prokopenko was always there no matter what bullshit K pulled with him. It had to be more than just substance parties and fast cars. Ronan's skin prickled at the thought and he really didn't want to think too hard about why.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, I know you were undressing me with your eyes but as a matter of fact, I do have something better to do. Is K around? I'm assuming he is. You never let him get too far."

His eye twitches at the insinuation that he would just do or say anything Kavinsky told him to do, but Ronan's not wrong and Proko kinda hates him for it. "No, he'd want me to kiss your ass, but that's more his style with you."

He's good at hiding ruffled feathers, but when it comes to Ronan it's harder for him to do so. He knows it's Kavinsky's fault. Every fucking thing is Kavinsky's fault.

Proko scoffs, rolling his eyes. "You're not my type. Keep your clothes on, please." And then eyes narrow just slightly. "He fucked off somewhere with some random bitch. Probably getting a blowjob as we speak. Boring."

Ronan shouldn't egg Proko on like this but when did he ever do what he was supposed to.

"Would you rather he was blowing you?"

Damn. There goes his plans for the evening. He was agitated, annoyed. The tension rolled off him in waves. What the hell was he supposed to do now? He couldn't turn around and go home. Not with his blood like fire pumping through his veins.

"So what are you, his ride home?"

Neither of them are doing what they're supposed to do, apparently.

"Shut the fuck up." It's all he says, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He doesn't know what the hell Kavinsky is doing... probably getting a blowjob but maybe not, Proko doesn't give a shit. He just wants Ronan to think it.

"He can ride himself home, I'm just fucking off over here." Basically the truth anyway. He needs to be a hell of a lot more drunk, though. "I was gonna grab a bottle."

Quite often the leader and/or spiritual guide of squads of peacekeepers, be they vigilantes or not. Deadlock and his squads tend to be pretty caustic on the surface, but he can be nice.

[Her team could be the X-Men, Exiles, some young mutant team like Generation X or New Mutants, high school, Avengers, or some other AU. I play her as very canon-flexible.]

[How do you feel about Zoey aued as a mutant? I'm good with any team really, but a younger members team might work better than say the Avengers.]

[That'd be great! How old do you want Zoey to be? I typically play Clarice as 16; 12 would be a bit young, admittedly. But yeah, we could brainstorm a mutant power for Zoey and how these two know each other, and we could go from there.]
