UNSENT LETTERS MEME	Letter Types
Maybe you were just cleaning up, maybe you were snooping on purpose when you found the letter tucked away where they obviously thought you would never find it. It has your name written right on it, plain and clear. Do you read it? It's so hard to resist... And if you do, do you confront them about it or try your best to ignore it? - Post your character with name, series, and any preferences. - Others respond after enlisting the help of RNG on deciding a type or just choosing the one they like best. - Play nice.	1. hate ∞ the letter details what you've done to bother the person who wrote it. It lists all the problems they have with you and all the wrongs you've done to them. 2. break ∞ secretly, they've wanted to break up with you for awhile now. 3. love ∞ they are hopelessly, helplessly in love with you. 4. depression ∞ they're very depressed or desperate and spill out every reason why. 5. confession ∞ they've done something wrong and detail it in this letter. Was it to you or somebody else? 6. sexy ∞ not quite romantic, they're confessing all the dirty things they would like to do with you. 7. leaving ∞ they were offered a job or something too enticing to pass up and they're planning on leaving you soon. 8. wildcard ∞ If you don't like any of the above options, make up your own letter!

Accidentally left atop his desk at home after a cleaning stint over summer before his seventh year, clearly labeled mum.

mum:

i need your advice. there's someone i like - really like, but we've been friends for a really long time and i don't want to ruin anything. sometimes i think they like me but whenever i try to make it clear that i like them, they laugh it off. i don't want to be too pushy about it because what if i push them away? like, i want to date but i would rather still be friends if i had to pick only one. i'm scared.

i don't even know if they like people like me. boys, i mean. i don't know if they even like boys. is that a weird thing to worry about? but i guess i'm worrying about everything.

i guess i didn't even think about what i'm asking for advice about, i'm just talking and hoping any of it makes sense. is it possible to fancy someone but still be okay only being their friend or am i going to be sad forever? i've noticed they never like any of my girlfriends but i can't tell if that just means they think i have really bad taste. but i like them so i can't have that bad of taste, right?

i'm sorry this is long and stupid. i don't think i'm going to actually send it, but it feels okay to get it out on paper.

It's been different with each of them. Every time she thought she'd managed to get her head around something with James, Albus winds up shooting off in an entirely different direction; and Lily's been half a dozen guesses at every turn. She can't begin to imagine how her own mother had ever kept up with anything at all.

Letters and notes aren't exactly new, of course. They're particularly not new from this particular child, even. It's the most natural thing in the world, as she gives another quick pass to the tidying efforts consuming their home, to catch up a note in Albus's handwriting, holding it absently in one hand as she gives the pillows a firm patting down and whisks her attention into the corners for signs of errant dust.

She's back at the door by the time she actually gives the words any attention. And then she's stuck in the door, wand-hand resting slightly against the frame and feet still almost stepping forward as all of her attention becomes fully arrested.

The first time through, she nearly forces herself to put it down again in the middle of the nearly final sentiment. It feels almost like snooping, to be reading a letter her son, even in writing, hadn't fully intended her to actually see. Yet there she stands, stuck in the doorway, reading for a second and a third time the instantly recognizable hurt of wondering.

She shouldn't take the letter. She won't pretend she never saw the letter. When she can walk again, she moves to set the parchment carefully on the middle of his pillow, folded in her own tight, precise creases and very pointedly no longer on desk.

He'll come talk to her about it. Or, if he won't, he'll find himself caught under the arm and dragged out under the stars about it. That's not meddling, after all. It's parenting. It's the version of parenting she's cobbled together with Harry over the last few decades.

It's worked well so far, anyway.

[Fingon wouldn't normally go into his cousin's study alone, but he needed a minute to himself. They had spent the evening in Himring's solar, talking and splitting a cask of ale-but as it grew later and Fingon had a bit too much to drink, it was getting harder not to do something stupid.

A dispute over potential tactics had given him a chance to get out of the room for a moment, before he reached out to stroke Maedhros' hair or did something even more foolish. He reached over to the desk, where a piece of parchment with his own name caught his attention. Curious, he picked it up.

After what seemed like a very long time, Fingon went back into the solar with the letter clutched in his hand.]

Russandol? I found something. [He paused.] There was a letter on your desk.

Honestly, he had though Lance woud be in there trying to hide from training or something so he had just let himself in, starting off like Lane was there. 'you know avoiding shiro is just going to make it worse' things like that.

That is...until he noticed that Lance was no where to be found. Surprised Keith looked around. He wouldn't have even noticed the box if it hadn't had something sticking out of it with his name, Keith's name, in blaring red letters.

[ Looking around Keith shrugged and moved to pick out the first letter, seeing more like it. Rolling his eyes he opened the first and scanned it. It had to be some immature letter about how much Lance hated his hair or something, right?
