Speak your love language
![]() When it comes to the way affection is shown, everyone has a different way they go about it. That means that there's a pretty good chance, with regards to couples, you could end up with two people who have two varying approaches towards how they prove they care...sometimes radically varying, which can lead to more than a little confusion or hurt feelings if there's not proper communication. But when both people are on the same page, they can tell each other how they feel with few words. ☄ Comment with your character, info, prefs, and how your character will likely show affection. |

[Shiro can't really remember the last time he went to a fair. He'd loved them as a child, always come home with half a dozen goldfish and a sugar rush to make his grandfather resort to closing the study door for a few hours. But all of that feels like another lifetime, something he can remember but that doesn't feel exactly real anymore. As if it happened to someone else.
Which means when the chance to go to a fair came up, he was happy to find some free time and go. He's not the only one that needs the relief of some free time without any pressure and everyone's barely in the gate before the teams disperse like fireworks, all zagging off in search of their own favorite part of the fair. Shiro - doesn't have anything in particular he was looking forward to. Just being at the fair is relief enough. So he stays next to Yunoha instead, suspecting that a fair, as fun as it can be, might seem a little overwhelming as well. He looks down with a smile.]
Anywhere you want to go?

[Despite Shiro's friendly smile and calm aura he is still sort of intimidating to her; so it's not surprising that she begins to flicker into transparency for a minute. While the co-alliance between her group and Shiro's was considered a good decision between the adults - Yunoha never expected she would get something new out of it. For as long as the two were currently working together, Shiro was assigned to be her partner and vice-versa during the occasional two team missions they were given. Her cheeks flush red in embarrassment but she easily pushes her powers down, arms tightening around her green friend. Her bright green eyes flicker to stare at her feet, the teenage pilot shifting relentlessly on her feet.]
I think going on the Ferris Wheel would be nice. [This is hesitantly murmured out before she glances up at him shyly. The sound of laughter and music causes her to glance back up at the majestic and wide open gates that led to the fair before her. Yunoha scoots to stand next to Shiro's side without even thinking about it, one hand reaching out to curl into the fabric of his shirt where she holds on. There were so many people milling about that it was making her feel very overwhelmed.]
Uuu.. so many.. What if I get lost? [She mutters this to Tama then to Shiro, the arm curled around Tama bringing him closer in a comforting gesture.]

He's gotten used to her fading out of sight, even if its a trait that still strikes him as both useful and a little sad. No one should feel invisible. When she scoots closer, he slowly raises his arm a little, letting her get closer and rests his hand on her far shoulder, putting her in the safety of his body's space without crowding her. Gentle, absent, his thumb rubs her shoulder soothingly.]
I think the Ferris Wheel sounds nice. [And, even though she was talking to her doll, he's fairly sure at least, he answers that too.] If you do, just come back here. Stand over there, you see it? Near the gate so we can see you when we come and you can see us but its out of the way of the crowd. It'll be safe and we'll know where to find you. [He gives her shoulder a very gentle squeeze.] But you won't get lost as long as you hang on to me. All right?

Is holding onto your shirt fine? [She contemplates asking if she can grab onto his hand but she's too embarrassed to even think about such a thing. She didn't mind physical contact since most of her friends were very touchy in general- Yunoha simply never held hands with anybody of the opposite gender before. It was a little out of her element if she had to be perfectly honest about it.]
M-Maybe we can get something to eat afterward? Like popcorn or.. cotton candy. [She throws out this suggestion hesitantly as she straightens up her shoulders.] Let's go inside now.

Food afterward sounds fine. It's been a while since I've had fair food. We'll get as much junk as we can handle. [He gives her shoulder another squeeze and starts them heading in the right directon. He does move his hand at his side though.]
Of course you can hang on to my shirt. I don't mind. Unless it would be easier for you to hold my hand.

[Despite her confession she holds on tight to Shiro as she follows after him, eyes taking in everything around her with wide eyes.] Wow.. So colorful! [She spots a roller-coaster in the distance along with the excited screams of the passengers. No way am I getting on that one.. thank god I'm not with the others. They didn't take NO for an answer.]
I wonder what the others are all doing now.. [She muses this curiously with a tilt of her head. Up ahead Yunoha could see the towering structure of the Ferris Wheel along with a relatively short line to get into it. It was pretty high up but she pushes her nervousness down.]

he is too.
After his captivity, there are so many little things that he appreciates. So much he realizes he might have lost forever. All the smiling faces, the laughter, the people and children rushing past with flushed cheeks intent on enjoying themselves... he inhales long and deep, smells the fried food and can't help but smile. He looks down at his companion and hums.]
Hopefully going on the rides first and eating second. I'm pretty sure Hunk and Pidge on my team know better but I wouldn't put it past Keith and Lance to compete on how much they can pack down first before picking the craziest rides. [It's said fondly - and with a touch of worry. He adores his team. He just knows them a little too well sometimes. Still - it might actually turn out to be good for Keith. He gives the girl next to him a smile as they get in line for their own chosen ride.] That's why we're the smart ones that are going on the Ferris Wheel and then getting something to eat. How about your team?
