Tyrell loved watching Elliot sleep. Yes, it sounded creepy, but it was a genuinely soothing experience for him. After watching the man's consciousness fracture and fall apart to the point of needing to be shot, seeing him at peace was a luxury Tyrell hadn't been sure he'd experience again.

It was a very specific type of sleep, too. The way he had slept in the hospital was different: full of pain and discomfort and frowns. Now, here in the house provided for his convalescence, he looked almost like a child - content and without worry. When he was awake it was different, but whenever he fell asleep Tyrell was there, watching first through the CCTV monitors and then up close, sitting next to the bed.

Until today, he'd managed to hold himself together. The stress of having to shoot Elliot to make sure the plan went ahead had affected him deeply. He'd always been capable of handling dire situations in the past, but now...

The urge to touch Elliot had festered within him since they met. As he sat there, in the house that would never be a home, he finally let himself give in. He reached out and lightly combed his fingers through Elliot's hair, simultaneously hoping and dreading he would awaken.
