Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... It's been months. Months of patience and caution; of pushing gently but not too far and letting Daryl come to him instead. It's frustrating at times, working through everything. Worth it, though.

Very worth it. He's content with small smiles and quiet laughs and barely-there bumps of shoulder against shoulder or knee against knee. He doesn't ask for more. He knows better. Daryl isn't delicate by any means, but when it comes to things like this there's something to be said for treating him carefully.

All of them are good at combat when needed. Daryl and Jesus working together is interesting to say the least but there's an ease there these days. He's sure that his avoidance of weapons is something that annoys Daryl at times, but it works well enough for him.

In any case, the last supply run together had ended abruptly when Daryl's shoulder joint had been dislocated in a fall and they'd gotten cornered by walkers and Jesus' flippy shit had been the only thing that allowed them to get back to the car safely enough that he could get them away from danger.

However, it also meant that they'd had to stop on the way back to shove his shoulder back into joint. Right. That'd been fun.

Anyway, long story short: Daryl's arm is still in questionable use. Jesus isn't the type to fret, but he's still been keeping an eye on him. They're in one of the houses, for now. At least they'd gotten some supplies out of it.

And Ronan doesn't tell them when he is. Doesn't tell them how there's an attraction in drugs and the reflection of dark tinted sunglasses, in sleek white cars and bruised knuckles. Like calls to like and even if K's a motherfucking thief he's also a dreamer, knows more than Ronan does and there's so much Ronan wants to know. Niall Lynch isn't around to teach him anything and Ronan's already fucked up so much. Died twice and three times over, bled out and dreamed again, gripping at nightmares choking on bile and bringing out the worst on accident.

It doesn't hurt that the slope of his mouth makes Ronan's blood boil a little bit, even if he's usually slinging something stupid about how daddy's probably riding his ass. But he doesn't think about it. Tells himself he doesn't think about it.

K's that smoke and fire that Ronan likes. Speaks a language Ronan gets, dropping copied leather bracelets into his calloused palm and fake as shit licenses outside Monmouth Manufacturing. There's more Ronan can take, needs, answers and it takes a thief to get them.

Which is why he's spending a lot of time with Kavinsky lately. Dreaming, smacking back pills pulled out of dreams, sprawling across the hoods of cars and rolling around in the dust when he falls off of 'em after fucking something up again. By the time night hits Ronan's covered in dirt and grease, smells like gasoline, smattered with bruises and shit-eating grins. ]

Shit! [ Pulling his muscle tank off leaves him wearing a pair of black jeans slung low across his hips. He throws the shirt on top of one of the closest mitsubishis and grabs a hose that's been laying in the dirt, spitting blood to the side as he does from biting the inside of his mouth. Tired from dreaming so much, he'd fucked up what he brought back on the last run; got a wheel instead of a whole copy car. ] It's fucking hot.

[ See, Bucky's usually not the type to barge into the bathroom where people are showering. It's just bad manners. But a) the person showering is Steve, and b) Steve's favorite thing, apparently, is when Bucky interrupts his shower. So based on this reasoning, it's not unreasonable at all to break his own rules, right? Especially when his Steve's singing so sweetly in the shower that he's roused from their bed, and Bucky's yawning when he throws off the covers, padding across the floor to let himself in.

Today is one of those good days, he decides, hopes, because it seems too perfect a morning for the skeletons in Bucky's closet to ruin. He makes sure he's heard when he slides the doors open, coming up behind his singing lover to wrap his arm around his waist, slippery with the water that sprays down on them both now. ]
