recognised as a social contract. Unions were entered into for many
reasons: to obtain property, to unite families, to carry on a bloodline,
et cetera. Whatever the reason, congratulations, you're getting married!

① Station → You come from a royal, noble, or otherwise distinguished family who has chosen a suitable spouse for you.
② Feud → You are being married to put an end to the bitter enmity between your two families.
③ Economics → Your economic state and/or your station will improve through the union, though one of you may be marrying down.
④ Empire → You and your spouse are merging your businesses and/or property to create something more influential or profitable.
⑤ Tribute → You have been offered as a gift or appeasement, alternately you're the spoils of war.
⑥ Bloodline → Carrying on your distinguished family name has fallen to you and the equally well-bred spouse of your family's selection.
⑦ Disapproval → Your marriage has been arranged to keep you away from the person with whom you truly wish to be.

POSSIBLE SCENARIOS:
① First meeting → This is the very first time you're meeting your future spouse.

It's all very complicated and confusing, how they ended up in this situation. Sexy, in part, isn't even sure how she got there. The prime directive has definitely been shot to hell, but then, that's Jim's problem, not her's. She just appeared accidentally in the middle of the village and they started bowing, probably because she was glowing. Damn time energy. You sneeze and you end up somewhere else entirely.

Sexy's lucky that her dialect translator still works, even though she's in human form and not her lovely box casing. It's rough, but her arrival fulfills some sort of prophecy, and now they need to find her male counterpart? She's a little fuzzy on the details, because they seem to want to keep her in this fabric tent and feed her as many of these "Juinelons" as possible (they closest thing she can relate them to is hot pink grapes. They smell wonderful, but she really isn't all that hungry in the first place).

She knows something's happened when they all start cheering, and suddenly they're adorning her with a strange crown made out of the local flora, and there's a big garland (?) and just. She needs to find a way out of here. Where the hell is the Doctor when you need him?

The last thing Sexy is expecting when they finally let her out of the tent, scattering petals in front of her as she walks, is the man in uniform, being held at spearpoint - and those things are sharp, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. As it turns out, the garland is for him, wrapped twice around his neck and draped down over his shoulders.

[So it had been quite a shock getting to know that she actually were royalty, only kept away and unaware of that her whole live. What had been even more of a shock were to be told that a good husband already had been arranged for her. A husband? Chocola could only think that nobles sure liked to rush things. Growing up with her grandpa that was a blacksmith she had no idea how the life of a noble worked.

Something that became quite clear when the date for her future husband to visit came around and she were nowhere to be found. The servants looked all over the castle, but the princess were nowhere to be found.

Chocola had completely forgotten about the visit and gone up with the sun and had headed out to the nearby forest to play. It wasn't until around noon that she remembered the visit and hurried back to the castle, her fancy unpractical dress getting teared and twigs getting stuck in her hair as she took the straight way back, off from the paths. What a great first impression she would make.]

He has never felt more out of place than he does here, after her mother's eyes raked him up and down and found him so very clearly wanting. Fiyero knows he's not what any of the English would expect of a prince - dark of skin, eyes and hair, tattooed from head to toe in blue diamonds, and wearing the rich fabrics and elaborate clothing of his own country - but equally, he knows he's a suitable match. Perhaps even a catch, with the title he has, the land he owns...it sounds impressive.

It's true that his family is no longer rich, but hers is, and although Fiyero cannot believe he's agreed to this, here he is. A prince does not marry for love, he's known that since he was a child. But perhaps love can come, in time...well, he hopes it might.

And although she is not quite what he had expected, she is beautiful, and her parents have left the two of them alone to get to know each other. He may be nervous, but Fiyero is not about to embarrass himself in front of his bride-to-be. Or at least he'll do his best.

"My lady Mary," he starts, being polite because he knows no other way to be. "I thank you for agreeing to spend this time with me. I hope it's not an imposition."
