The way a bomb loves a crowd
![]() ![]() Don't be so cynical: love at first sight definitely exists. What also exists is love at wrong sight. Both of you feel a spark, hearts a-flutter, magnetism in full force, all the tell-tale signs of an instant pull, so what's the problem? Well, there are some big problems. One of you could be taken, you could be on opposites sides of a battle or movement, you have a duty that conflicts with romance, this could be the wrong place at the absolute wrong time, the attraction could be forbidden, or any litany of pitfalls you can imagine could exist. Oh why oh why are you having this sudden swooning now? Here? It's no use denying you're in a pickle. The quandary is...will you avoid this flight of fancy or will affairs of the heart hit you square in the chest? HOW to PLAY

[ i'll go with any canon point in the movies! message me if questions! ]
She couldn't even say how she got out here, in this floating heap of junk. Her feet had definitely been on Earth just a few minutes ago. At first, she thought someone had knocked her out and she was having some really weird dream but everything was a bit too real for her taste. She had first thought she had been zipped into some ventilation system in the building. Everything was old metal and bolts. Save for the large glass window she'd found with Earth staring up at her. Except it wasn't as blue as she would've thought, more brownish and all the countries looked wrong. Not Earth? Guess she'd been sent farther than she thought.
That had been trippy.
So. Space. Somewhere. On a ship. She hadn't dressed for this.
[ how about something post RotJ? but not long after, maybe even right after the battle of endor. ]
Of course his sister wasn't aboard and neither Han nor Chewie were Force sensitive. Still, he wouldn't have been surprised if his old friend had sensed something was wrong. After all, he had a sixth sense when it came to the old ship. And he definitely wouldn't have taken too kindly to her being called a 'floating heap of junk.'
Luke almost told Han there was someone else on the ship, but instead he decided it was best he didn't share it with the captain just yet. He didn't understand it himself, after all, and he didn't want a wookie and a disgruntled smuggler scaring someone and causing panic on the ship. So he excused himself, claiming he needed to meditate in another part of the ship for a while. By this time in their friendship, Han didn't question quite so many aspects of his Jedi training. Though it occurred to Luke on a bittersweet note that perhaps he was no longer training, now that his teachers were both gone.
There were more important things to worry about, namely the young woman whom he sensed wasn't so much scared as bewildered. Unhappy, even, as if ending up on the ship hadn't been her plan. But that was all he got - Luke was still learning to wield the Force and reach out to search others' thoughts and feelings. He also still held to certain morals, for what if a person didn't actually want their thoughts and feelings to be invaded?
When he turned the corner to approach the dark-haired woman he did so slowly, his expression calm. Nothing about his mannerisms should have shouted out hostility toward her. Even so, he spoke up in a similarly calm manner, his voice almost carrying a kind of wisdom and world-weariness for someone still so young.
"It's alright, I'm not going to hurt you," he began, holding his hands up just in case, "I just want to understand why you're here."
Something about her struck him as curious - aside from the obvious question of her being there. Who was she?
[ it's perfect. she won't take kindly to the whole 'Force' but this'll be fun! ]
Yeah, she had to be dreaming.
One metal hallway lead to another and then to another. A few were different. Like the floor turned into grates at some point and she was sure there was something steaming coming out of one hall and what was that faraway sound she heard? It was something that reminded her of a bear. Was there a bear? In space? Maybe this was someone's idea of a joke.
Or Kilgrave was back.
It was always a nightmare of her's, a constant blur that chased her whenever she closed her eyes. Logic would say that there was no way a dead man could come back to life. But then, logic would also say that a girl couldn't lift a car and yet she'd done that plenty of times. Sooo logic was off the table here. She was ready to believe anything.
Except someone who looked like a space cowboy coming around the corner. What was with that haircut? She snorted. Did it look like she was worried about getting hurt? Maybe being sucked out into space ...
"Who the fuck are you?" Jessica swiveled on the heel of her boot and jerking her chin towards him. He looked about as confused as she felt. "Where am I?" The next question was shot out in a demanding tone, one that was used to being answered. "Also, since we're in the mood for a little q&a, was that a bear I heard? Please tell me that was your stomach."

Lmk if this works/feel free to elaborate
She'd left home, needing to put some distance between herself and he family that had lied to her for all her life, and along the way to finding her own identity, she met Kei. At first, he seemed to keep his distance, but even so, Inari never felt quite so alone when Kei was around. Maybe because they had more in common than she initially realized.

As always he met her at night though his greets were usually quite hello's waiting for her to initiate speaking. A cigarette rested lightly between his lips as the sweet scents of smoke filled his senses, masking the scents from the city. His thumb and point pinch the end of the bud flicking the embers into the dark.
"Are you staying?"
no subject
She watched him smoke, quietly observing his body language--caught in the balance between empathy and hunger. Craving connection, but holding back for fear of what lurked inside herself. Wishing life were simpler.
"Are you asking me to stay?"
no subject
"I won't ever tell you what to do." His voice was low as he turned to look back at her. He did want her to stay, a small part of him that hoped that maybe his cursed loneliness didn't have to be forever. He knew it was stupid to entertain the thought but it slipped beneath his barriers and rooted inside of him without his consent.

She knew she was in a precarious position, but she decided to go a little farther out on that limb. "I like it here. With you."
no subject
He hummed softly before speaking. "Do you? So if I wasn't here, you wouldn't stay." He watched her reaction wondering how she might reply. Would it be silly for him to want to know for sure?
Was it even a good idea?
no subject
"I don't know where I'd be," she said, "but I don't think it would be the same without you."
no subject
His eyes remained even with hers as she spoke, his expression carefully measured. Hope might have reflected in his dark eyes but it wasn’t clearly noticeable. "You want to stay with me?" He asked in a low whisper. It was the only volume he could reach without his words trembling.

Her own answer was just as quiet, spoken with more breath than voice. Kei's eyes held her as if he were searching her very soul, and the surge of hope she felt within herself was so strong that she could almost forget her fears.
"I want to stay with you. You...make the nights feel a little less empty."
no subject
"I'm used to being alone." His tone suggested that he didn't like it.
Kei liked his lips as he continued. "What if it isn't safe with me?"
no subject
She recognized the longing for companionship in his voice. She felt it, like an ache deeper than any hunger.
She almost laughed. Little did they know that he was probably one of the safest people she could be around, in a city full of gangs and wild nightlife. She leaned in a little closer, and this time it was her turn to stare into his soul. If she let the hunger rise, he might see her eyes glow like twin moons of her own.
"What if it's not safe with me?"
no subject
He watched her for a long moment, tasting her breath as she inched closer. Her pulse rang out in his ears and he felt himself lost to the sound of it. He wanted to move closer but he feared what control he had. He hadn't been this close to someone in a very long time.
"Why do you think so?"
no subject
She swallowed hard, her voice trembling when she finally answered the question. "Because I'm not...normal." There. She said it. Her next words tumbled out in a rush. "My father wasn't human."
Her eyes said please don't hate me.
no subject
"I assumed." There was something different about her; he could tell though Kei never knew what it was. It was something that made her stick out like the faintest trace of perfume that clung to her skin.
There was a long moment of silence before Kei spoke again. "I'm not human." He was a monster.
no subject
For starters, he hadn't tried to kill her. Even if he did sometimes get that hungry look.
It probably said a lot about her own inner monster that she kind of liked it when he looked at her like that.
no subject
He didn't let his demon control him. He feed off of those he considered evil though sometimes he wondered if he was turning evil in return.
"And what about you?"
no subject
Right?
"Succubus," she said, her pale face flushing as she glanced away at last. "I guess that makes us quite the pair."
no subject
"If I kissed you."
no subject
"I could drain your energy. Your life force," she said. She was trying to remind herself why she she ought to keep her distance as much as to explain her situation to her friend. It might not kill him as quickly as it could kill a human--he was probably strong enough, and fast enough to resist her, even fight her off of he had to--but it might weaken him. Make him hungry. Conversely, if he attacked her, it would likely have a similar effect.
Then again, maybe they could satisfy each other's hunger without causing any real harm. "I don't know what will happen."
no subject
He leaned a little closer as if to draw Inari in. His voice was deep and soft while his gaze searched hers for some indication of what she wanted. "Do you want to find out?"

She didn't know which side would win out, or if it even mattered anymore. All she knew was that she wanted to be with him.
