[Her canon is somewhat obscure, that's fine by me! The crash course notes: Pyrrha is from the world of Remnant; she's a champion fighter, and is currently training at Beacon Academy to become a Huntress. Hunters and Huntresses fight the creatures of Grimm, shadow creatures that terrorize the kingdoms and feed off of fear. She uses a sword-javelin-gun weapon called Miló and a shield named Akoúo̱ in battle. The people of remnant also each have a semblance or special ability; Pyrrha can control metal after she has made contact with it.

Perhaps Pyrrha is sent to Earth (or Steve is sent to Remnant) as some sort of alliance in the face of Thanos and the universal threat he poses?]
