I've seen you around everywhere and I rather think you deserve one. I've almost thrown John at him a few times for the lulz, but then I've also wondered if you didn't already have a Bingley. How different is your modern au from the original book?

I did, actually, have a Bingley for like two seconds then they disappeared on me, so... Side note, you can always throw John at Darcy anytime you want n_n

The modern au is as different from the book as much as "A Study in Pink" is as different from "A Study in Scarlet". Details are kept, details are added, details are ignored, but the same basic skeleton is there; Darcy and Elizabeth have to overcome their and their social circles' pride and prejudices in order to be together.

I suppose the proper question would have been what would you like for them to be doing? How would they know each other in this setting? I see that you turned Pemberley into a company, so I'm wondering what happens to Netherfield. It's been a while since I've read this damn book lkdsf;

I guess what I'm also asking is how much you want Mr. Bingley to be about. Did you want a guest star bromance or are you wanting some full on meme time?

Truth be told, I've never played the 221 times, but Sherlock and Darcy look so much alike, yet act so much unlike that it'd be LOLarious and angsty.

Okay, this is what I've thought for the pair;

In the late nineteenth, early twentieth century, during the industrialist age, Darcy's great-great grandfather founded Pemberley Industries (named after the family's estates also because I'm uncreative and can't think of anything else), which specializes in trading, shipping, textiles, and banking, with a dabble in the diamond business (from Darcy's mother's side). Darcy is the current CEO of it, after his father died (it's sort of a patriarchal company), and the master of Pemberley Estates.

Bingley, I was thinking, could either be the head of Pemberley's legal department or the CEO of a fellow company (like a supermarket/TESCO type company). Bingley and Darcy have known each since they were little kids; the older Bingley and Darcy were friendly rivals/business partners/bros for life, so Charles and Fitzwilliam are like brothers. Netherfield is still an estates at Meryton that Bingley rents for the summer, he still has two sisters (and Caroline still has a thing for Darcy), and he's still the naïve, sweet little thing he is in the book.

Uh, I don't want to place a commitment on you and say that "oh you have to be here a certain amount of times... you've gotta tag in a certain amount of memes, etc" 'cause I don't know how busy I'll be when school starts again, much less you. We'll just see how it goes, yeah? I'd love some full-on brotimes with them, but I don't know; rl is a bitch sometimes.

Oh god, do you really want Charles "Peer-Presure" Bingley to be the head of your legal department? Really? It sounds like he'd be better off running his own company, where his own legal department could nanny him and he can tongue-in-cheek challenge Darcy to yacht races.

I know Caroline is a snob, but if you marry her we can be brothers for real.

But oh yeah, no, I'm not claiming a total commitment, but I'd be interested in exploring it, certainly. I have school starting next week and I'm like... five different people in three different games here on DW LOL. So definitely this would be a casual thing.
