Trapped in a box
Trapped In A Box Together Meme

You're not sure how, you're not sure why, but suddenly you're in a box. What's worse, is that there's another person with you making quarters less than perfect.
Rules:
①: Comment with your character | series | Preferences if any
②: Reply to others as if you're trapped in an tightly sealed non-open-able box that is rather cramped. Feel free to add more than two people to a box
③: Every now and then, the box will shift and roll to one side furthering awkward times
④: Play nice - Doesn't have to be shippy
⑤: Eventually you'll get out of the box but usually after you stop struggling

Awkwardly stuck in a box with a dragon? Gen, even if the derp acts like an oversized pup sometimes@@
Stuck in a small, box like space with no light and what feels suspiciously like a human on his chest was not really the way Skyfire was planning to wake up today. The fact he was laying on his wings, his feet in the air and his tail crammed under him was even less pleasant.
On the bright side, at least for Sam, Skyfire's scales were more like leather than metal plate and he wasn't the type to hurt those smaller than him. Even being reduced to a twelve foot dragon from thirty or so, this was a tight fit, but even so, did he ever wish whatever they were in wasn't so cramped.
"Please tell me you have some idea of what's going on?" Because Skyfire has none at all.
omg
He's trapped with a monster. What's actually more surprising about this situation is the fact that the monster apparently has no idea how either of them got here, or what's going on. Which... On one hand, at least Sam isn't apparently the creature's dinner, if he can believe it to be telling the truth. On the other, that still doesn't give him any clue as to where he is or why he's there. Why either of them are there.
"We're trapped, it's a tight fit, there's at least two of us, and you're not human. That's about as much as I've got so far."
It's all stated rather dryly, Sam's brain still working at top speed to try and gather more information.
no subject
Sam would easily be able to hear the sounds of something brushing up against one of the walls as Skyfire tried to use one of his paws to figure out not only how much space there was, but the shape as well. The sound of something scraping a hard surface, followed by a small noise of discomfort was easily heard. "Apparently my head is in one corner of wherever we are... and trying to move with horns really is not advisable."
He's trying not to put his paws or head near Sam, knowing that humans could be quite jumpy about such things. "You don't happen to have any kind of light source with you by any chance? Attempting to use fire breath in here for a light source is not something I want to try..."
no subject
He's trying not to focus too much on how weird all of this is, and instead focus on a way to get out of the situation. Which is easier said than done, really. Moving it all feels... extremely strange, just knowing he's situated on someone rather than something. Someone alive and breathing who can probably feel his movement.
Fire breath?! Jesus, what is this thing, a dragon?!
Still... He searches his pockets with wide eyes in the dark. "Yeah. I would appreciate you not setting me or anything else on fire," he says quietly, disbelief in his voice, just at this entire scenario. He finds a matchbook. "I have matches. Well, they're probably somewhat safer than, uh... fire... breath..."
no subject
"I'd rather not set anything on fire either, you especially..." At the mention of matches, he realized that might present a whole other type of issue. "Um... Just don't panic when you see me..." The moment the words leave his mouth, Skyfire cringed at how unhelpful that statement was.
Right... When has saying 'Don't panic' ever worked? He'll just keep his mouth closed enough to hide his teeth and make sure that his claws are retracted... It's a highly uncomfortable position, but he keeps his head jammed up in the corner to give as much space between Sam and his face as the small space would allow.
Lighting one of those matches would prove Sam's guess right... It was a dragon. Or at least looked enough like a dragon to be called one.
no subject
The small flame is enough to illuminate a circle around Sam, though not nearly the entire space. He can see Skyfire well enough, at least the part of him that Sam's lying on. So that's enough to confirm that, yes, this is a dragon. Since Sam had already patted around his jacket and jean pockets, he knows he doesn't have any sort of weapon on him. He's pretty much stuck with just trusting the creature is telling the truth and isn't trying to manipulate him to... what, make it easier to eat him? That doesn't really fit, but then nothing else about this makes sense yet, either.
"Right... You, uh, you probably can't move around much. I might be able to..." Though crawling around on a huge living creature seems incredibly awkward and uncomfortable, but still. He wonders idly if a dragon could be ticklish. That would suck, a lot. He really does need to check and see if there's any sort of exit he can reach, though. "I'm just going to look--"
Still holding the match, he makes to move off of Skyfire's chest, scooting to the side until he can press a hand to one wall of the box.
no subject
"I could move a bit if you need but... uh... That would be safer if you'd let me hold onto you if I tried to do that." He was quite aware that humans could be rather fragile in some respects and he didn't want to hurt anyone.
While the lit match gave Skyfire more than enough light to get a good look at Sam, he still tried not to be too obvious about watching him. People sometimes were funny about him observing them too closely, so he tried not to do it.

[ Homura shifts uncomfortably, her brow furrowing. It would help if she could feel her legs, but they're pinned by Ruby. Drastic measures may be called for. ]
How resistant are you to point-blank explosions?
no subject
Her inspection of the box is also a whole lot less practical, she kicks her boots against one end wall and bangs her hands against the other. It's not having a lot of effect.
It's then that she blinks at Homura's suggestion.]
Uh... More than most but less so others? Why can make your shield explode!? That's so awesome!
[The shield was the only item Homura had on her visibly. So Ruby was more than willing to jump to conclusions. She was a from a world of very strange weaponry.]
no subject
Not quite.
[ With the professional air of someone pulling a rabbit from her hat, Homura reaches behind her shield and withdraws a metal pipe with wires and inactive lights. ]
I can summon these, which will explode. Consider these our last resort if we can't escape before food, air, or water becomes a problem. Would you survive being blown up? [ "More than most but less so others" isn't exactly confidence-inspiring. ]
Re: Ruby Rose | RWBY
He grunted and pushed the walls as best as he could in his position, giving up after a moment.]
Well, I'm all out of ideas.
no subject
And so Ruby did the only thing she could think of (Because slicing it to pieces for some reason didn't come to mind right away, she was stressed give her a break), she ran from the freaky box. She ran as fast as she could. Which is pretty darn fast. Unfortunately the box was able to keep up with her.
Before she knew it she had crashed right into Jaune and the box had got them both. There wasn't a whole lot of room but she punched the nearest wall as hard as she could, repeatedly.]
We could try hitting it harder?
no subject
[Jaune started feeling around the edges of the container.]
We're in some sort of box, right? Which means that there has to be a way out of the box.
[He kept feeling blindly for anything that felt like a crack, a switch, anything that would signal a way out. Luck was never on his side, it seemed, since he came up dry. Still, he kept searching. There had to be a way out. It didn't make sense for there not to be a way out. Not that any of this made sense in the first place. Which reminded him...]
Hey Ruby? Why are we in a box?

He takes a second or two to reflect. Cage over an abyss -- it doesn't, on the face of it, really seem like the sort of thing that should happen at all. Definitely not twice.
This is the third time.
And he's not even alone in this one. ] -- Urgh. Could you... [ He's on the bottom, of course. In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if she maneuvered them that way while he was unconscious. But his leg is sort of stuck to the left, bent at the knee with his foot back under his posterior. It's both completely numb and throbbing in pain. ] -- if you could, you know, lean to your left? Just a moment.
no subject
Still, some part of her is relieved that he is awake, and not literal dead weight. ]
no subject
[ He wriggles around sort of sideways, levering up his knee. It takes a couple swings to get his foot more forward than back, and then he jams it up against the far edge of the cage-box. This does involve gently kneeing her in the upper arm, which is great.
Ohhhh, that's gonna start hurting really soon. ]
Is this the part where I say -- what's a nice girl like you doing in a swinging cage like this? Again? [ And he wedges his arm behind himself, going for the pockets near the small of his back. Sometimes they miss the little twisted length of wire there. Good for a garrote, some lock-picking (depending on the lock), and for scratching those hard-to-reach places between one's shoulderblades. (He mostly uses it for the latter.)
Ah -- there, but he can only get the edge of it. ]
Can you reach -- base of my spine, got a bit of wire there. Can you see the lock?
[ ooc: pardon the email-default-icon responses... ]
no subject
She puts a hand on his shoulder and pulls it forward even as she twists her own shoulders around, reaching for his lower back. ]
Hrf. No-- [ She grunts, fumbling. It's a good thing neither of them are nice, girl or otherwise. It'd just make everything more awkward. ] --and no-- [ She can't see the lock. ] --But there has to be one somewhere. [ Pressing further against him, she finally manages to gain purchase on the wire and tugs it free.
...Huh. A moment of dubious speculation. Just how long had he been carrying this convenient bit of wire? Jas can think of a few times when that little trick could have come in handy before.
She slaps the wire into his palm, for all the good it'll do them. If there were a lock to pick, she would've gotten them out by now. ]
no subject
So, you think whatsit Bothan-face was a bit short on cage budget? Couldn't manage two, so just had to make do? [ He bends the wire into two arcs, and clips it onto his collar for easy access. At least it's something.
He makes an oof sound as she shifts enough to knee him in the pit of the stomach. At least it wasn't lower. (Maybe it was revenge for Sinjir laughing.) ]
Oh...
I think the lock might be what's digging into me. From... below.
[ Not an unreasonable design choice, actually. Put the door on the bottom. That way no one's likely to escape, dangling over a pit. Why hadn't either of the other cages done that? ]
squints & considers tipping the box over lmfao
And Sinjir and Jas constitute the value of at least four standard prisoners. ]
From below...? [ She frowns, looking down at the base of the cage. ] Oh. That complicates things.
Re: squints & considers tipping the box over lmfao
[ Four standard prisoners each, really. ]
Yes, just a slight complication. Really, a wee, little one. Hardly even worth mentioning. Except for where it's digging in hard enough to bruise, because your weight is right on that thigh, and you, my dear, are solid muscle in a startling amount of places.
I, on the other hand, have definitely been falling behind on Imperial physical conditioning routines.
[ While he chatters, he's shifting himself incrementally, working a hand under his posterior, to grope at the lump there. Yes, that's certainly a lock, and it's got a little shell on it facing outward, so that it's theoretically unreachable by a prisoner within. ]
Oh, yes. That's a latch all right. I can't tell if the lock is electronic or mechanical. [ Probably electronic. That's his sort of luck. ]
no subject
Probably electronic. This cage does not seem as old-fashioned as the others. [ If she weren't busy focusing on leveraging her weight, pressing her feet against the far side of the box and her back against the near side, she might scoff, or sigh, at that last word. Others. As if getting captured and thrown in boxes or cages was normal.
And it might be, for them, but it shouldn't be. Especially for two such capable people as they. Jas would almost be willing to chalk it up to bad luck--if she believed in luck.
That moment is when the box decides, as if to test her stance on luck, to upend itself.
It starts slow, just enough of a gravity shift for them to be able to sense the movement, and for it to be clear that the motion is not as simple as something knocking it over onto a flat surface. It's more of a smooth rotation, with no impact to cause the shift and no sudden stop marking its completion.
But Jas falling against what was once the ceiling of the cage, her face smushed uncomfortably against the flat surface with Sinjir's weight above her rather than below, is proof enough that they're upside down.
She grumbles and curses under her breath, then pushes against the now-bottom of the cage to right herself as much as possible. ]
This is not an improvement...
no subject
Maker, he never realized how many elbows and knees humanoids have. ]
All right. I propose we sort of rotate, um, this way -- [ and he makes a motion in the air, indicating that she should move up-ish and to her left-ish and he should go down-ish and to his left-ish and then maybe they will be more or less next to each other, limbs draped in a tangle between. ]
no subject
She moves, following his gestured instruction and taking a few liberties here and there to forcibly move his limbs out of the way of hers. It's more a display of frustration at their circumstances than an effort to expedite their bodily imitation of gears turning, which may be a little unfair--Sinjir's no more at fault for them being in this mess than she is, after all. ]
no subject
[ Legitimate frustration or not, he's going to complain about it. It's what he does. ]
