THE RANDOM SCENARIO MEME 3.0


- Post your character, name, and series in the subject. Include any preferences as well.
- Go to RNG and enter 1-6 for a scene type, and 1-20 for a scene to play out.

TYPE OF SCENE.
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑬ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honour.
⑭ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑮ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.
⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.
⑨ Fight → You can't even be in the same room as your friend or lover without arguing anymore.
⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.

CRACK.
① Sexswap → Uh-oh, you're suddenly the opposite sex!
② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!
④ Animal → You're suddenly part animal or transformed into an animal!
⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!
⑥ Back in School / Graduated → You're suddenly back in school! Or if you were already in it, you've aged and long since graduated!
⑦ Vampires, werewolves, and zombies, oh my! → You're suddenly a vampire, werewolf, or zombie! Maybe even a demon or a devil, whatever creepy crawly you can think of. What do you do now?
⑧ Ghost → You're suddenly a ghost or at least invisible. What are you going to do with this new ability?
⑨ Awkward conversations → So did you just fart or what? Any conversation goes, as long as it's embarrassing and awkward.
⑩ Crossdressing → For whatever reason, you're suddenly dressed in clothes of the opposite sex.
⑪ Suddenly naked → Oops! Your clothes are suddenly gone.
⑫ Suddenly a kid → You're a kid again! Have fun with that second childhood.
⑬ Fortune cookie → You've suddenly received a note with something that will happen in the future, either precise or vague.
⑭ Super power → And suddenly you're like Superman! Any power goes.
⑮ Bodyswap → Somehow you've changed bodies with the other person.
⑯ Back in time → Somehow, you wound up in the past again. Do you try to correct something or just sit and wait for time to jump? Maybe it jumps to various points in your life or maybe you actually think you're back in the day. Have fun, run wild with the idea!
⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...
⑱ Angels, mermaids, and fairies! → You're not necessary something dark or evil. You're just something different. How do you deal?
⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?

FLUFF.

① Nice meeting you → It's your first time meeting this person! You bumped into each other on the street, in a bar, at work... whatever!
② Drinks → You're out for drinks! Or just chilling at home with some beers. Wherever!
③ Lost → You're lost and you kind of need help finding your way to where you're going. A little help with directions?
④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?
⑦ Old friends → you haven't seen this person in a long time!
⑧ Rivals → you're suddenly rivals! Or maybe you have been all along...
⑨ Problems → you've got a problem with each other, just got in a huge fight, whatever. Try to work it out!

⑭ Enabler → you're enabling the other (or each other) to do something bad, really bad. Addiction, stealing, killing, or just any other self-destructive behavior.

Danny rubs a hand over his face, turning his gaze towards the building before his eyes track up all the way to the roof top. "Uh..." That feels like a knee-jerk bad idea, but maybe that's just the concept of jumping off a damn building.

And maybe it's so shocking because it's an idea Danny would never have. Because he would have continued to try endlessly to find some way out-- and Frank is just so-- "Fuck it, give up, lets jump off a roof." Danny tries to mimic Frank's voice, turning his hands up and lifting his shoulders in a shrug.

He knows it sounds like a batshit crazy idea. It is batshit crazy, but Frank is willing to take the risk. What do they have to lose, really? They can't die in a dream and this is most definitely not reality.

"Come on." He leads the way toward the fire escape, pulling it down and climbing his way up.

They're doing this.

It's a long climb but Frank is determined to get out of this hellhole before something else creeps up on them. He can just imagine what else is waiting.

Well Frank's kinda batshit crazy sometimes too, so it all works out.

Danny on the other hand is neither crazy nor the man without fear, and while he spends most of his nights prowling along rooftops, he's never intentionally jumped off of one. He still follows.

And he's not afraid of heights, but once they're on the edge of the roof, he feels an uncomfortable sort of twist in his guts. "Okay..." Frank's seen Nightmare on Elm street, right?

It feels real enough, the heavy wind whipping past them, tousling their hair, and Danny reaches to curl his fingers in the collar of Frank's jacket as if to steady himself-- then tugs his head down because fuck it he's already had to wrangle up enough courage today, might as well go for broke and shove his mouth against the other man's own.

The only thing that has felt solid and real throughout this entire fucked up experience is Danny. Even the wind feels fake after a while, the height not so daunting, the nighttime too stark and unchanging. There are no cars, no people, no movement or life save for them and whatever their subconscious pulls out to torture them with. Faintly, Frank swears he can hear explosions and gunfire... but before that can fester into something more he's being unexpectedly tugged and - ... kissed.

Okay. That was the most unexpected thing of the evening.

Frank hardly reacts at first and feels a weird skip in his chest he hasn't felt in a long, long time.

But moments later he's regaining sanity and pulling back, half tempted to punch the kid but instead he grabs the front of his shirt right back, looking fucking confused. "You know I'm not part of the goddamn dream right?"

Danny leans back a little, or as far a he can with Frank's hand fisted in his shirt, and gives him a smile--weak as it is, but his heart's still heavy despite his new found adrenaline rush.

"Yeah? But I kinda figured if you get to be crazy enough to jump off a roof, I get to be crazy enough to steal at least one before we maybe die." He shifts back until the edge of his heels are on the ledge of the roof and all Frank has to do is let go and gravity would probably take over the rest.

"Yanno, just in case."

Of course somehow this ends up being up to Frank, fate put in his hands. The logical part of his brain knows this isn't reality, that the pain felt in their bodies is from injuries earned fighting before put under this spell, but there's also the human fear of falling to battle with. The urge to jump off a building isn't strong with either of them, naturally, nor does Frank enjoy the idea of tossing Danny off a building.

But, well, this isn't real, right?

Frank looks thoroughly confused by what just happened within the last ten seconds but after a few moments of staring and heavier breaths he makes the rash decision to go with the flow and pull him in for one more hasty kiss, harder than initially intended - and then he's letting Danny go.

Rough is good though, the clash of teeth and hard press of lips are real, jarringly so-- and Danny presses back for the brief moment before Frank's fingers slip from the fabric of his shirt and he's left to fall backwards, arms spread because it's no use fearing the decent.

And if it's his last two seconds well... kinda worth it. Danny won't be afraid, he won't allow the asshole that made this horrible place the satisfaction.

Hitting hurts but not like the actual fall should. It doesn't spatter him across the cold concert below-- rather it's like landing flat against water. The initial shock of impact before he sinks, the air knocked from his lungs while the world around him shatters apart.

And then he's on his hands and knees, gasping for breath, the city loud and alive around him.

Frank isn't too far behind. If this somehow did end up being a shitty decision he doesn't want to see Danny's body splattered on the ground. It was Frank's dumbass suggestion so if he just let his friend fall to his death, it's only fair to join him.

The rush of falling has his heart in his throat and his stomach a twisted mess but before he can feel an impact, before he can regret the decision, he's pulled into reality with a gasping breath. The throbbing of his head where he'd hit it during the fight is even stronger now and as he sits up the world spins just a bit.

"I can't believe that worked." He mutters. I can't believe I fucking kissed him.

Looking over to the other man, Frank almost wants to laugh... but there is still the issue of who they were fighting. "I'm guessing the fucker ran."

Danny barks out a little laugh, rolling to his back to drape his arm over his eyes. "Man I hope you believed that would work, otherwise not cool." His chest is still heaving from the thrill of it, but it's not every day you get to fall to your death and live to tell the tale.

"I have no doubt. But we can track him again, we did it before." He lays for a moment longer before using his shoulders to roll back to his feet in an easy motion, then offers a hand down to Frank.

"That was rough, but at least we know how to shake out of it."

"I had no idea if it would actually work but that's how I wake up from a lot of dreams." And in the movies. But he's not adding that part.

Frank takes the outstretched hand to get up, holding his head and wincing. There's blood at the back of his temple. Great.

"Next time, let me just put a bullet in the asshole's face." Rough is putting it lightly. Frank doesn't even know how to continue ignoring everything they saw and experienced. It was way too personal for both of them.

"Maybe not his face, but defiantly both his legs." Danny reaches up to cradle Frank's face for a moment, tipping his head so he can run his fingers across the gash at his temple, trailing that tingling warmth of glowing chi to heal it... or at least enough to stop the bleeding and take away the sharp sting.

"I shouldn't be the guy that's lecturing you on all this head trauma." He says with an amused twist of lips.

At least Danny's alright physically, but that little trip did a number on him mentally. He's keenly aware of how exhausted he is.

He's still not used to the tingling of chi whenever Danny uses it on him. Frank can admit that it's a very helpful skill to have though and just lets him do it, pride be damned. There could be worse shit. They've both been through worse.

Right now though he feels just as exhausted and frustrated that the bastard got away, that they couldn't even keep him from causing more mayhem with innocent children. He fuels the anger to avoid other emotions.

"Thanks," he grumbles once pulling away, jaw tense as he realizes Danny saw something tragic from Frank's perspective in a way no one else has. Ah, shit. "We can't just give up. That can't be it."

He draws his hands away, moving back to lean against the brick wall of the building behind him, needing the moment to rest because that always takes a little bit out of him.

"No, but it's almost morning, and we know he's only active a night." So the guy bought himself some time, at least until they could resume their search. It was easy, follow the trail of children who don't wake up the next morning. That's how they found the guy before, lurking around and... whatever he was doing. Feeding off their nightmares maybe?

"Well start again tomorrow, keep an ear out." He gives Frank a sympathetic smile-- or not quite that, though he feel's sorrow for him, it's more understanding. They can leave things unsaid.

After a night like that Frank's certain he won't sleep for another 24 hours. This is when a consistent diet of caffeine comes in handy. It bothers him they won't be able to do anything more for those kids and their worried families right now but they're only two men, neither of whom have the kind of magical ability the shithead used on them. At least, it seems, none of the children are physically harmed. Not that it makes what's going on any better.

"I'm calling my contacts to get as much information about him as possible." Probably all day. He'll likely end up spending the entire day on this just to feel productive and less helpless. And... to not think about stirred up memories. He can still see it all vividly, including the vicious way Danny's mother was killed.

All in all, the nightmares did the job.

Frank briefly catches the smile but then looks away, his own lips turning down into a frown. "You should go home. I'll call you if I find anything."

And Danny well, he does what he does best, just smiles a little like nothing in the world can affect him. Like rain just rolls off his back and well, maybe that's just his own way of coping. But Frank probably can see past that now.

"I can talk to the Doc, he's better at this kind of stuff than us." It helps to have friends in high places, at least as far as weird magic stuff is concerned. And Danny's not going to sleep any better than Frank will, so he might as well keep working his own leads.

"I'll drop in on you tomorrow night, we can compare notes?"

Frank would offer working together or just heading to one place together but he isn't the type, isn't the kind to sit and talk about what happened. Processing is difficult for him and his first instinct is to isolate no matter how personal the experience. Even now he can sense some of the lingering hesitation behind Danny's smiles, noting how they don't quite reach his eyes. Frank can tell the difference. It doesn't sit well on his face.

"Alright." Confirming with a single word Frank pauses, hesitating, almost like he wants to say something but can't find the words. After a deep breath he gives in and shakes his head, gaze darting away as he turns. He was parked somewhere around here.

"See you, Kid." Because avoidance is clearly the best medicine.

"Yeah." Danny doesn't push tonight, doesn't intrude or insist because it's been rough for them both. But he knows well that Frank needs time, because wounds like that don't heal quickly... especially when they're laid open again.

He's had time to battle his demons, but Frank's were still fresh, and his heart still aches for him. Danny's mother had died to save her child... he can't imagine the heart break of a parent that would have gladly done just that and lost their children instead. It's devastating.

He does stop him though, if only for a moment, just to reach and take his hand for a brief squeeze before releasing him so they can go on their respective ways.
