[ She's in too much of a rush to really feel the heat of his fingers trailing along her spine, but at least she knows that this-- it's nice. Even moreso when she feels his hand in her hair and then on her cheek. This is warm and fuzzy and feels safe and sound unlike another other embrace she'd ever been in. And it's always that way with Shiro.
He's unlike any other person she's ever met. ]
Why can't it be both? I can be happy and hyper. [ She chuckles against him. ] But seriously. I don't know if even a trillion could compare to getting to go to the moon. What are we gonna do there?
[Gentle, he tucks hair back from her face, completely fascinated with the way her mobile face changes, in love with every shift across it. He really should have offered sooner - except this feels like the perfect moment. One shoulder shifts under her.]
Watch stars, chase satellites, take Black on maneuvers across its surface, blow up an asteroid - whatever you want to do. It's your first trip into space. You should be able to pick what sounds like fun.
[ The shift of his shoulder beneath her hand bids her to pull it away, but only to trail it down, coming to rest on his chest without her realizing how intimately they're acting or even positioned.
She wears a thoughtful look on her face as he lists possible moon activities, but naturally the one that sticks out to her the most, the one that has the corner of her lip curling in a smirk-- ]
I wanna blow up an asteroid.
[ is that one, out of all the others, and she says it like she's already sure that it's a thing she can do in the first place. ]
[She might not realize it - but he's pretty acutely aware of their position and the trail of her hand across his chest has his eyes lidding for a moment before he pulls in a breath. Her answer has him smiling though, manages to keep his mind where it should be and he chuckles on his exhale.]
Why am I not surprised? Okay. We'll blow up an asteroid. Anything else you want to do?
She pulls her hand away completely, this time, and it lifts to tap the tip of her finger on her lips as she hums in thought, and she supports her herself with the arm that's still on Shiro. ]
Hmm... Could I make a mark on the moon? Or get a souvenir? Like another rock to add to my cool space rocks.
He remembers the first time he walked on the moon.
He remembers how awed and thrilled and slightly scared and mostly just amazed he felt. How excited he was in everything that led up to each time. Hana being just as excited - it feels good. It feels really, really good.]
You should make a list. But sure. I don't see why Black can't scratch out whatever you want to leave on the moon or pick up a rock or three for you. Got to have something to show for the trip, right?
[ The hand that she had pulled away is now flashing a peace sign at him as she huffs a bright, mischievous laugh. ]
I'm gonna leave my autograph on the moon. Love, D.Va! Just like that.
[ No one can deny that D.Va can be a little full of herself sometimes--but, still, she never thought she would even have this opportunity, so it only stands to reason that she would make the most of it.
She'd be lying if she hadn't pestered Winston with question after question about living on the lunar station when he was younger. Outer space is one of the only things Hana had ever felt was out of her reach and now-- now it doesn't feel that way so much. All because of Shiro. ]
[Maybe, as a responsible space explorer, he should have some qualms about defacing the moon.
But damned if he doesn't have a hard time denying her anything, much less when she asks with that look on her face and that smile.
So he coughs a laugh that wrinkles the edges of his eyes. It's the dark side of the moon. It won't annoy any of the astronomers on the earth that are looking. In time debris and simple radiation will erase it.
But its probably as close to immortality as anyone will ever come. He doesn't mind giving her that. His hand on her back have a gentle squeeze.]
All right. Asteroid practice, space rocks and an autograph on the moon. I think we can manage that in an evening.
And if we can't, I guess we'll just have to make two trips.
[ That would be a real stretch, she's aware, but it doesn't stop her from kidding about it anyway.
The unfettered excitement in her expression calms a bit, not because Hana feels any less excited for this, but because it gives way to a quiet sincerity. Her hand returns such that she has both on his shoulders again, and she says, ]
[Two trips sounds pretty far out of their league but... its a thought that still lingers nicely. Imagine a world where they had that kind of time...
The return of her hand draws his attention completely to her and -
and she draws the breath out of him as if its the last one he'll ever have. Words he wants to answer pile up behind his tongue - and not a single one surfaces to make sense. Not even his grandfather's poetry comes to mind. Tender his thumb strokes her cheek.]
[ In a world that they had that kind of time-- it's also likely that they would've never met. Maybe this relationship-- friendship, whatever-- maybe it's not perfect as far as their situations are concerned, but Hana wouldn't have it any other way.
It occurs to her, looking down at him with his hand on her cheek, her hair spilling down to frame his face, his eyes and the white of his hair shimmering in the starlight, their bodies pressed together, warm and safe and sound and so close she can feel his breath hitch beneath her, that Shiro-- whatever their relationship is might not be perfect as far as their situations are concerned but Shiro... maybe it's that he's perfect. Whatever that means.
Her gaze lingers once more his lips and she finds herself drawn closer, leaning in slowly. ]
[He can feel the moment the air goes thick and sluggish in his lungs. The very moment that his heart stops in his chest. Because her eyes might as well be a touch when they slide over his face and down to his lips and he watches them change color. When she leans, his eyes half close, his hand cupping her cheek, guiding her down to him. All night. All night he's been wanting to kiss her, taste her lip gloss, feel the heat and softness of her mouth under his.
God. He's wanted to taste her so bad. For such a long time now. The fingers on her back curl, press into her skin through the fabric of her dress slightly. Maybe they won't go back to the party at all...
Except - they will. Because - not like this. He's promised her the moon and given her a dream of it tonight and excited her and thrilled her with the prospect and - how much of her kiss would be, aware of it or not, over that? Maybe it shouldn't matter. A kiss is a kiss and he certainly wants to kiss her. But - he wants her to kiss him because he's Takashi.
Not because he's made her happy by giving her the moon.
And... he's not really sure she'd mean it if she kissed him now. She would - but not the way he'd want her to. Not because she was
He wants her to kiss him when she's in love with him.
It's a sharp thrust through his chest. It takes all his self-control not to grunt at the impact of it. But - he wants Hana Song to kiss him because she can't not kiss him. He wants her to kiss him when she means it.
So at the last moment he raises his chin and his lips brush her forehead instead, fingers of that hand curling to rub her jaw. He isn't going to be the same as whoever she'd known before. Against her forehead, he murmurs a soft:]
[ All she's thinking as her eyes slip half-closed are his his fingers digging into her back, his muscular chest against hers, both stilled by baited breaths, and his strong arms wrapped around her-- and his lips.
It's all she can do then think to herself, oh no, I'm about to kiss Shiro.
Her eyes close almost completely in anticipation as she tries to close the distance between them finally, and it sort of feels like the whole night has been leading up to this but-- when she thinks her lips should be pressed to his, she feels his on her forehead instead. Eyelids fluttering open, she gives a soft but audible gasp as he's muttering against her and that's when it occurs to her--
Oh no, I was about to kiss Shiro...?
The surprise lingers on her face, but she's more surprised at herself than she is at him for sidestepping the move--although she is surprised at that, too. Even if she was acting without thinking, no one that she's been with has swept the rug out from beneath her like that. When she finally remembers to breathe, it feels like she'd been holding it forever, and when she breathes in she feels her chest tightening and her mind in a flurry of equal parts confusion, disappointment, and relief.
But what... now...?
She huffs out another breath against him before she slowly tries to pull herself away, off of him, but she doesn't try to remove herself completely until she looks down at him one last time, biting down on her lower lip like it'll keep her from trying to kiss him again. After a beat, she speaks up again, her voice starting quiet but slowly regaining its usual brightness, ]
I'm hungry. We gotta eat and get back to the party before Jack starts blowing up my phone asking about where I am.
[ and then she huffs another laugh, partly out of amusement and partly a way for her to shake off the nervousness biting at her again. Damn it, why does Shiro always get her this way? ]
