( Sometimes, Miles Edgeworth truly wonders how he ends up in these ridiculous situations. Surely, dealing with a box of abandoned puppies should be the role of animal control, or some not-for-profit shelter. Yet, all the places Edgeworth has called today are in no position to take the puppies off his hands, and Detective Gumshoe (who, for some reason, Edgeworth believes will have some potentially useful advice to dispense in this situation) is not picking up his phone.

Long story short, he's made his way down to the precinct to get some answers, and it's there that he runs into Maggey Byrde. Remember that she and the detective are somehow acquainted (honestly, he forgets the details), he calls out to her, and asks: )

( He is still holding the box in his hands, although the puppies are mostly hidden from view by a pink wine red blanket, although a stray tail or paw may be glimpsed. )
