[ Wanda's hands brush over her skirt, fingers tracing the hem. The ballcap and sunglasses are enough of a disguise walking down the street, but alone in the hallway outside of Alias Investigations, she knows she's been recognized. Her face is plastered all over the media, with headlines like "escaped menace" and "dangerous" under her picture in bright red. Like she's not even a person anymore, just a dangerous thing. A bomb.

Her hands tighten into fists. But-- that doesn't matter right now. The team, the Captain's team, is scattered, and Steve Rogers is missing. Not gone from the public eye, but missing. And Wanda doesn't know who else to turn to. ]

It is as I said before. I need a detective.

The more you say this, the less I trust you.

[ Unfortunately for Wanda, the alternatives are few. That'll happen, when you're a so-called terrorist (she prefers the term "freedom fighter") on the run from the Russian mafia. Not many are crazy enough to aid a fugitive like her for as little cash as she has, and those that are would be the first to sell her back to the Russians.

Which is what brings her to the middle of nowhere, USA, with a woman who has a concerning taste for complete disaster. That at least explains why she took the job in the first place. ]
