With the news about the...sister location being reopened for Lord knows why people haven't learned their lesson, Phil saw a change in Jeremy and in himself. Old ghosts of the past made them jumpy and while most people respected their need for privacy, some were not as kind. The nightmares came back hard and some days were harder to wake up from than others. It was during a particularly rough moment with reporters that Phil shut the door to their home, closed the shades and dragged Jeremy into their bedroom.

No words needed to be spoken as Gray poured in two glasses of whiskey and downed his without hesitation. Liquid courage was desperately needed to deal with these devastating news. He placed Jeremy's head on his chest, letting his partner listen to the heartbeat that was now slowing down thanks to their proximity. He whispered words of assurance, they will go away soon, and the bots are well and truly dead, much like their lives back in that damned restaurant.

[ There’s a kind of tension that’s thick in the air. Emma can feel it. It’s late at night and she should be sleeping, preparing for the battle that is to come in the morning, but she knows that even if she were in her most comfortable bedclothes and lying down in her bed she wouldn’t be able to sleep. The seriousness of the event to come weighs heavily on her mind and she could swear that over the past couple days she’s developed a few premature wrinkles. It’s that uneasiness that causes her to wander and even brings her to a place she’d rarely seen before all of this, the saloon.

Most of the patrons have headed home - a wise decision on their part. If they’re all to defeat Bogue and his men then they’ll have to have every ounce of energy they can summon.

Emma doesn’t stop to order a drink as she walks in. She has little interest in alcohol. All she’s looking for is a change in scenery and it doesn’t seem that anyone in the tavern minds one more person lingering in the place. She takes a seat at a table off to the side of the room, her eyes focused on the surface of the table, and she lets out a heavy sigh.

In a way she’s looking forward to tomorrow’s battle. She knows it won’t be easy and that many lives will be lost, but she has hope that her community will be saved in the end. Once it’s over, things will either go back to the way they were or change completely. End completely. It’s not an easy train of thought. ]

[ ota for gen! he's pretty hyper-vigilant and distrustful so most likely the comforted, but he'd probably pamper and dote on significant others anyway to give back. ]

[ Squall was never sure how he sort of washed up on the beach of Destiny island, and he always had this gut feeling that he might be able to make it back, but the people on this island were pretty accommodating. It took Squall a while to get used to the islanders, and he even began to open up a little, it was strange.

Especially since there were teens around his age, and for the most part they were just innocent kids doing innocent kid things. Sora of course was very... friendly, and Kairi almost felt like what a mom would be like, but something about Riku made Squall feel the most... comfortable? He wasn't really sure what it was about him, but even sitting in silence felt nice when Riku was nearby.

Squall was going for one of his usual strolls around the beach when he noticed Riku sitting at the tree. That special tree him Sora and Kairi always hang around. It was almost a little intimidating, that special spot where they all grew up together with. Squall never usually wanted to trespass, but since Riku was alone, he felt like maybe today it would be okay. So he quietly walked along the path to get to the tree and from behind he leaned his arms on it. ]
