[ Well, they missed breakfast. So there's that.

On the upside, there's a little breakfast place not far from where they're staying, so they manage that without things being too weird. They talk, but not much; little stuff. Work-related. Easy things that don't involve breakdowns, and kissing, and the mess that followed. After that they split up, check a couple of things, make arrangements solo so the air between them can remain clear. A whole day they manage this, but in the end they're back in their hotel room with a few pizzas and a fresh bucket of ice, and now they're just... stuck with each other. Just the two of them and the elephant in the room.

Steve considers a search on TV for another ridiculous talk show to make Sam laugh, to help him forget — but in the end he settles on the radio. He finds that station again, and this time Bing Crosby is on. It makes him feel a little better. After a silence that is palpable in its thick discomfort, Steve shifts on his bed, causing it to creak underneath him. ]

We should talk. About what happened.
