Well, now that you're dead...
The Train to the Afterlife Meme

Congratulations: You are dead.
Maybe you know how, maybe you don't. Perhaps the memory is fuzzy, or perhaps it's crystal clear down to the look in your comrades' eyes. Maybe it was your time; you've done all you wanted to. Or maybe you weren't at all ready to go, maybe you went out kicking and screaming - but none of it matters. You know you're dead, and the train is taking you to an afterlife. Perhaps an afterlife of your choice; you might've earned that heaven. Or perhaps you've earned something else entirely.
It'll be a bit of a journey, though, so you might as well take your time and talk to the other people in your coach. Death knows no place: most of them are strangers, even from faraway worlds. But death knows no time either, so who knows, some of them may be people you know, even if last you knew, they were alive - or long gone.
Oh look, here comes the snack cart.
All the usual:
- Post with your character's name and canon in the subject line.
- Said character is now dead for whatever reason - canon, AU, what have you. They are on a train with other dead people from many other times, places and worlds.
- Characters don't know for a fact where they're headed - just a general awareness that they're going to some kind of afterlife. Whatever they think it is is up to the player.
- This meme is built especially for cross-canon interaction, and potentially for threadjacking and group threading - if you're interested, may be a good idea to state as much in your subject line.
- Tag around and play nice!
- TRIGGER WARNING: Meme obviously deals with death and may deal with other unpleasant themes as a result. Please be cautious.

I presume that you... have not seen the blood that must surely be on me, or the vomit that is on you, which indicates you died of poisoning. You probably didn't even feel pain. I further deduce that everyone on this train, all of the passengers that is, are dead. We are going somewhere obviously - a place I've never personally held stock in. The After.
[Perhaps he should have been gentler. Should he find comfort that none of the others are here. But... John was bleeding too, wasn't he? Is he dead? Is he on this train? Should he find comfort that John isn't right here beside him? Or maybe... John has a better reward than he does? If so he deserves it. If John is alive, though - and he is dead...]

What- what do you mean? I don't even have a stomach ache or anything, no way I've been poisoned! [The front of his jumpsuit and his chin and mouth look pretty disgusting covered in foamy puke like that. He shouldn't have taken that stranger's drink and he should've listened to Howard about taking stuff offered to him by strangers.
He smiles nervously.] Wow... you- you've got blood on your jacket though. [What? Why is there blood on his bloke?]

[He looks around, trying to determine who else is present, who else could be. Is he dead and John isn't? Sherlock had been shot, again - of course, and John was already bleeding from the stab wounds...]
I was shot. At least twice that I remember, on this particular occasion.
[It must have been more though. Shouldn't John be here too, if he didn't survive? The train is going very fast, a bit too fast, really.]

...when I get to the vacation place, I'm asking Howard to come pick me up. I want to go home now. [He doesn't want to go on vacation with this man who keeps telling him he died and that lady sitting by the window with her tongue out. These people are creepy!]

He looks out the window, after scanning all the faces in his own car - he couldn't find John, he also couldn't seem to move from his seat, a bit like being immobilized, but he can still turn his head.]
We all want to go home, except those that are intentionally here.

How come the train's going, like, rollercoaster fast? I'm glad Howard's not on here 'cos he doesn't even like rollercoasters.
I hope my hair still looks good.

[The movement almost makes him ill.]
