It's all about characters getting comfortable with each other while being total goobers and showing love. It's shameless, sure, but it's fun! It's a diplomatic mission, and Pavel is used to those, but usually he's asked to accompany the captain because of his technical acumen, not as a non-technical representative of Starfleet. Faced with the task of mingling at a dignitary's gala, he ends up with his back to a wall, glass of something decidedly scotch-like in his hand. It's not that he doesn't like talking to people, and there are some very pretty girls here from many different planets, but he has to present a more formal demeanor (he's not even in uniform, dressed in slacks and a jacket and a criss-cross style silk shirt), and he's so nervous that he's afraid to speak to anyone.

He's been at the party for nearly an hour, has been watching Captain Kirk make the rounds, chatting and flirting and having an amazing time. Chekov, on the other hand, is nursing his second drink, doing more people watching than anything else.

However it's the watching that causes him to lock eyes with a beautiful girl from across the room. She looks as ill suited to be here as Pavel does, a little anxious, and little unbalanced, but when she catches Pavel's gaze she stops, right in the middle of the room. Pavel feels his breath catch in his throat, and he's walking toward he before he realizes what he's doing, their eyes never leaving each other.

Pavel can hardly breathe. He feels like he's being drawn toward her, his feet moving despite his legs feeling completely numb. And, in a few heady seconds, he's standing before her, close enough to smell the subtle scent of her perfume, can feel her rapid exhalations against his cheek.

"Hello," he says, his voice low but just loud enough for her to hear, his face going warm with a blush, his entire being trembling in her presence.

[ he comes home sometime in the morning after a very long day at work, and too little breaks. caesar smells like a smokestack and his fingers are blackened. there's a half-empty coffee cup in his hand of cold coffee - he'd forgotten to throw it out on his way back to his apartment - and he still has his scrubs on.

normally he'd ask joseph to pick him up. that had been a battle - he didn't want him to go out of his way just to pick him up. but there are some arguments that caesar is tired of carrying out and repeating, and unfortunately jojo was just as stubborn as he was; and so it happened, anyway, whether he liked it or not. whenever jojo was available, he'd come to pick him up. this was one of those times where he'd told him not to wait considering how busy things were in the hospital. an accident in a nearby factory had lead to some rather intense moments in the hospital and in the ER. now that's all done, caesar feels about ready to collapse. he didn't know how long he's been on his feet and how long he's been talking to people, only that he'd been moving on adrenaline and coffee and cigarettes. doctor zeppeli can always be trusted with everyone, except for himself; and after that, well, the backyard of the hospital was always a good place to have a quiet breakdown while smoking a pack before going home.

he drops his swipe card a number of times before caesar makes it through the entrance; he has to root around for his keys in his pocket before leaning his head against the apartment door and swearing, very loudly, bumping his forehead multiple times against the surface, because he'd forgotten to do groceries before he went home.

there was nothing in the fridge but half a plate of spaghetti (which won't be enough, and caesar would rather not eat because he's too tired to eat, but it won't be good if he missed another meal - ) and maybe an apple, and he can't exactly gorge on jojo's cereals because it's ridiculous to eat cereals at 3 in the morning. there's a grocery store north of the area that's open 24/7 he can go to, but that takes effort and time that he'd rather be spending sleeping.

caesar groans.

he drinks the rest of his coffee, and pockets his keys. he'll make the trek anyway. yesterday, he'd told jojo he'd make him the best beef stew ever in an effort to lure him out of his diet of instant noodles, and he can't do that if he doesn't have the ingredients. with a sigh, caesar walks back out, slow as he makes the trek to the elevator yet again. ]

Anyway, the point is, it's late and her girlfriend is basically the only person left in the library, sitting on one of the couches and doing School Stuff, and Coco is 100% sitting down next to her with two hot chocolates because that is how uncool she gets in relationships: beverage puns. She sets the drinks on the table and puts at arm around Velvet's shoulders.]

Jeyne's shoulder was healing, thanks to Robb's careful and meticulous observations. Words were had, tempers flared, meeting with the Lannisters successful, and maybe a kiss (or many) had been shared and they finally made it back home in one piece. But neither had really spoken about said shared kisses or what it had meant and yet Robb's mind could barely concentrate on anything else.

Except his letter.

The following day he requested her council, which he was thankful she had granted it. He dressed in the finest clothes he could find (which wasn't much of anything, if he were honest), face shaved and hair combed. He stood quietly as she dismissed an advisor to speak to Robb alone, which only made his heart race faster. Clearing his throat, he breaks the silence between them, "Your Grace, before we started this journey, you said you would be so kind to write me a letter to the Citadel. I've come here to see if that still holds true. I wish to serve on your council as a Maester."

He didn't know why he was being formal, given things had been anything but during the trip. However, circumstances were different and he wasn't naive to think she really wanted anything to do with him now she's back upon the House throne.

[ Well, someone's clearly in high spirits today. Can you blame Mari, though? They've been dating for almost a whole week, but this is their first time actually going out together! Between school and rehearsals, they couldn't afford even a single afternoon off, and Mari wanted it to be something more special than a couple hurried hours at one of the two tiny cafes Uchiura has to offer.

But it's the weekend now, and the nine of them had decided to take a day off practice. And so, there you have it-- perfect date opportunity! Mari's well-prepared, of course: her outfit is meticulously picked out, her nail polish is color-coordinated, and she has a set course in mind that is sure to make Dia burst with exhilaration!

Well, if she doesn't burst with anxiety over the fact they're in Tokyo first, at least. There's really no reason for her to worry -- Mari's got the map pulled up on her phone, she's excellent at reading directions, and she's holding Dia's hand so they won't get separated!

Granted, there's more than just a practical reason for it. She really likes holding Dia's hand. She likes making a show of it too, if the way she swings their arms back and forth as they walk is any indication.

And yes, she's still going with that cheery sing-song. ]
