Part of the charm of being in a relationship isn't found in the amor, the grand shows and trapping. Contentment can just as easily come from the little things - or even the silly things - about being close to someone. At first, you're either naturally standoffish or wary or you're intent on impressing them and not looking like a total nerd. That's how the "getting to know you" process works, unfortunately. As you get more serious...you may actually get less so? Maybe you'll let them see your dorky humor, your weird laugh, your bizarre hobbies, your bed head. It could end up that the two of you have more fun playing video games together, Netflixing and chilling, baking cookies, or sword fighting (if you're in the olden days, where Netflix and cookies are scarce). And, really, you can't help that their clothes are so comfortable on you.

It's a good thing you guys are together. You really did gain a best bud.

Character, preferences, etc. You know the drill!

Go forth and kill spiders, share clothes, snuggle together for warmth, play Mario Kart, open jars, bake brownies, hang out on the drawbridge of a castle, slay vampires, whatever you dudes get up to. ♥

[After the sound defeat of Kefka, everyone sort of went their own separate ways again. No one really wanted to stay cooped up in that airship together all the time, after all. They kept in touch, though. Going through the literal end of the world together has a way of fortifying bonds of friendship and camaraderie.

Sabin went back to Figaro with Edgar, resolving to protect his brother and their kingdom to the best of his ability. And he did, even as he grew restless after a while. It's not that he wasn't happy, because he was. Being reunited with his twin brother has been nothing but a blessing-- but Sabin is a wild spirit and living in the castle only serves to remind him why he left in the first place. But Edgar, like the selfless and observant brother he was, encouraged Sabin to go traveling for a while. Get some fresh air and do whatever huge bear-men did in their free time. It took a few tries with all of Sabin's protesting, but he eventually (and gratefully) caved with the promise to return.

Eventually, Sabin found his way to Mobliz, where Terra returned to care for the orphaned children living there. She opened her home to him while he was visiting. It was supposed to only be for a week, but then a week turned into two and two turned into... well.

He lost count.

What can he say? Terra was great company - he hadn't realized how much he missed her easy banter with him and her seemingly limitless reserves of kindness - and the kids were pretty cute, too. Well, most of them. There were a few that liked to be snot-nosed little brats and he let them know it, too. Frankly, there was a thin line between Sabin behaving like an adult and behaving like a child.

At the moment, it's a little of both. Sabin came tromping into the shelter with two kids, one sitting on each of his massive shoulders, securely held. Each of them are covered in mud, and if the grin on Sabin's face is any indication, he probably caused the mess.] We went "hunting" out in the wilderness today. [Because Sabin told too many stories about how he'd survived in the wild and you know kids-- picking up on everything they hear.

Their hunting, however, is a lot tamer. Nothing more than jars filled with bugs, flowers, and other things the children thought were interesting. And they're terribly proud, too, as they hold their jars out towards Terra with beaming little faces.]

They wouldn't stop yammerin' the whole way back about wanting to show their "mama" all the goods they got.
