For whatever reason, the floor is an unacceptable place to sleep. It's messy, the dog is there, THE FLOOR IS LAVA, there's flooding, or it's too dirty to walk on. Who cares why it's not acceptable, it just isn't! Normally, that's not an issue, but tonight you have a friend over. Maybe it's the safest place, maybe it's hurricane season and your house is the only one out of the path of the storm. Are they mooching off you? Stop trying to figure out the details! Just get over it and share the bed with that person! Sexy times are not required. Intimacy is not required. Just share the damn bed already.

The trek to Weisshaupt had been pointless. Ellessa had subconsciously known that it would be, somehow, but she'd still had to try. The Wardens of the Anderfels seemed woefully detached from the state of the world--if it didn't involve darkspawn, their eyes seemed to glaze over and their attention was impossible to attain.

But despite the futility of this fool's errand, at least she'd had decent company through it all. And a broad shoulder upon which to gnash her teeth whenever her ire grew too much to stifle. Hawke was just as frustrated as she, that Elle knew quite keenly. In point of fact, she was somewhat surprised the two of them hadn't yet pulled this fortress down around the ears of the collective idiots residing here.

Perhaps they were maturing, in their advanced years.

Nevertheless, the night before had been...liquid, to say the least, and the ale barrels stacked against the wall had grown in quantity until the Hero of Ferelden, bless her, had very nearly reached a new level of alcohol poisoning and passed out quite literally sideways across the Champion of Kirkwall's bed. She recalled naught beyond that, but some hours later, when consciousness decided again to visit, she forced one sticky eyelid to open and realized that it was still quite dark, she was all but naked and wrapped in a scratchy sheet in a room she didn't recognize.

Instinct put a dagger in her hand, but the snoring lump beside her seemed somewhat familiar, so Elle opted to give it a firm nudge with her elbow instead of the blade. When it didn't immediately respond, she frowned and nudged again. Harder.

[ Things are never quite the same once Regulus returns. There is very little fanfare because most of the Order (almost all of it) doesn't like him even if he's done something incredibly helpful. Dumbledore vouches for him so no one's planning to murder him per se but things are tense.

He's confined to a safe-house because he's a traitor and a thief and he was close enough at Voldemort's side to know things that no one else should. To have pieced together horcruxes from the tiniest clues.

Seeing Remus after all that had been a relief but also painful - he feels grateful for it but also knows he deserves any ire thrown his way. Still, no one could have known how bad the recovery would be. Even the best healer of them couldn't explain why the nerve damage in his leg is as extensive as it is, and why the after-effects of the potion are still lingering so long after because no one knows what it is.

He's a little better than when he'd been brought in looking like the pale horse of death was at his heels but there are still nights when he can't sleep because he can't get warm. Warming charms, piles of blankets, a fire in the fireplace - none of them are ever quite enough to stop him from shivering and feeling like his body is encased in ice. ]

Chekov is actually really good at being able to sleep just about anywhere. It's like his super power, and probably has a lot to do with his age, but it's really helpful when the crew gets stuck on a planet unexpectedly and end up having to share rooms. Ordinarily, in this situation, Chekov would just take a blanket and a pillow and curl up in a corner.

However the inhabitants of this particular planet have a very specific need for extremely high humidity, especially during their sleep cycles. And while the atmospheric controls can be adjusted somewhat, the fact of the matter is their bedchambers are basically terrariums, complete with six inches of standing water on the floor. Water that can't be drained.

It's strange enough to be paired with Captain Kirk (because the captain most often ends up with Commander Spock or Dr. McCoy in these situations), but there's only one bed in each room, and Chekov's "fall asleep anywhere" ability doesn't extend to water deep enough he could accidentally drown in it. So he's standing in the middle of the room, barefoot with his pants rolled up to his knees, waiting for the captain to join him and (hopefully) tell him what to do. He's certainly not going to assume they'll be sharing the bed, but perhaps they'll sleep in shifts? Though, if that's the case, he hopes he can take his shift first, his eyelids already sagging from exhaustion, his body aching for a few hours of rest.

[ It's not the first time Poe has fallen asleep in Ben's bed, and it probably won't be the last, either. He'd recently returned from a patrol, then after a long debriefing, he'd come here to find Ben. He'd had every intention of staying up for the other man, but when exhaustion set in, his body had other ideas.

[ When John had fallen asleep in his bed after a very long afternoon of working at the clinic, he had been very much alone. The problem was, he did not currently live in a flat alone, he lived with a nosy flatmate who had no concept of the term personal space. He hadn't even woken up when his mate had joined him in said bed, tapping away on his phone.

Unfortunately for Sherlock, John did not have an uneventful sleep. No, there weren't any nightmares, but there was something else. The doctor turned over in his sleep so that he was facing the warm body in his bed... then he flung his arm around the man's slender middle, snuggling close.

[They're standing in her bed as they stare out at a sea of lava that's consumed her flat, the Doctor's arm outstretched across her chest so she won't do something reckless like make a leap and attempt to hop on one of the floating objects moving about her room. She looks at them with confusion, glancing up at him like he'll have an explanation about all of this. Because clearly, this is his fault.]

And why aren't my things melting? They should be melting!

[They're perched up on top of her bed, wobbling as the furniture sways about. They shouldn't be alive right now, by all accounts. And yet they are. Which leads Clara to believe that the lava isn't as lava-y as it wants them to believe. Which clearly means they've got to test it out. So she crouches down to grab a pillow, and tosses it into the lava. Her eyes widen as it's burnt to a crisp and promptly sinks down into the lava. Gulping, she can't even vocalize how any of this shouldn't be possible. It's likely all her fault for toying with that alien artifact he told her not to go near.]
