You're trapped in your worst nightmare and worse yet,
you've dragged someone right along in with you.
You feel like you can't escape and any fear you've ever had
is coming true or you're being forced to watch helplessly as
someone you care about is in mortal danger or pain but you can't save them.

Whatever you fear the most can and will come true.
- Post your characters, name and series in the subject.
- Others respond after going to RNG and entering 1-7.
- TRIGGER WARNING: Some prompts may be triggering (Torture, general violence, ect.) so be mindful.

1. motions. you're trapped in your worst nightmare, forced to through the horror to completion with whoever you've drawn into your dream.
2. chased. you're both being chased by something horrible, but it feels more like you're running in place.
3. tortured. held down and tortured in every way imaginable. Can whoever else is in your dream save you?
4. helpless. you're helpless, only able to watch as the person dragged into your dream is hurt, tortured, or otherwise in danger, but you can't help.
5. tormentor. the person in your dream is not there to help, but to hurt. They are not a friend... at least not right now. Maybe they're fighting against whatever is urging them to hurt you or are taking great delight in it.
6. uncontrolled. you're hurting someone you care about and taking delight in it... or at least outwardly. Inside, you might be fighting it with everything you've got.
7. other. mix and match or make your own up.

[ for all his bravado about enjoying the hunt, Buck was finding it really sucked to be on the other side. it was one thing to be actively hunted by a known enemy, but to be chased through the surreal by something unknown? entirely different. hell, this was probably how it felt to be a goddamn moose, chased for miles only to finally collapse in front the hunter's scope. it felt like a horror movie that never ended, where the tension only built to the point he felt like snapping, giving up and letting it win. it was only by sheer force of will and decades of training that he continued, keeping one foot in front of the other, stumbling clumsily over the rubble.

it feels like he's been running for hours in full kit, and the weariness seeps into his bones, making every step harder, almost like he's dragging himself through a frozen lake, with every piece of equipment trying to drag him down into the depths. whatever's after him is still coming, the loud echoes of each step reverberating through the burned out city he doesn't recognize. there was nothing more disconcerting than seeing what should have been a thriving city empty and quiet, the festive christmas lights burned out or flickering, feeling much like the apocalyptic movies he's scoffed at. it's a war zone, there's faceless bodies everywhere, and no building he takes shelter in feels safe or secure, and for once in his life, he actually feels afraid.

he's taken cover in a burned out building, where the only color comes from the blood on the walls and the eerie glow of his chemlight. he's heard footsteps for the past few minutes, following and purposeful, and he concentrates on them, only them, trying to focus on what he knows instead of what he doesn't. compartmentalizing, it keeps his nerves from fraying completely, but he's still highly on edge as he considers his next few steps. it's obviously human, but without his team or comms, he's more inclined to shoot first rather than ask. the footsteps are close enough that he knows they're near, probably only a few feet away on the street, and after a quick mental debate on how to open, he forgoes the flashbang and blind fire, going for the more civilized choice.

with a quick breath he breaks cover, rounding the corner with side arm in hand, taking care to stay several feet away in case it was... idk a actual dream demon or Freddy Kreuger ]

[ Washington doesn't sleep any more than he has to, even now. Even this far away from the place he'd once been, when nightmares were all there were. He's come a long way, has a team -- family -- and has...far more than he'd had any right to expect, given all that had happened over the last several years.

But the past isn't so easily left behind.

Some nights, it's the fractured pieces of Epsilon left behind in his head, like broken bits of vase someone's ground into the carpet over time and never quite gotten around to picking up. Sometimes it's the crash, or the cold white walls that followed, and sometimes it's sitting in front of Aiden Price. Sometimes it's his time alongside the Meta, and sometimes it's things that haven't even happened, things that might. That could, that he fears.

Tonight, it's a torrent of smoke and ash. There are sirens, flashes of red that pierce the back of his eyes as that piercing sound echoes in the wreck that was the Mother of Invention. He's still in the infirmary -- have to get out, have to get out of here, where is everyone? -- and trying to peel himself out from under the machines and frames that tumbled loose and flew across the bay when the ship collided with the snowy mountainside outside.

It's heavier than it should be. Or maybe he is. There's something warm dripping down the inside of his armor weave in several places, but all he knows is that he's pinned. He can't push free. And no one is coming.

Why is no one coming? He's here, he's right here, his team wouldn't just forget him--

Washington's efforts shift between panic and exhaustion, frantic efforts to wrench himself free and alternately sinking back, limbs like lead as the siren rattles the inside of his skull, wondering if he's ever getting out of here. ]
