IT'S BOTH (and i love it)

It's enough for Fae, who cocks his head with a small hum. "A gambling shopkeep, hm?" That's so mundane he can't help but smile. Fae doesn't waste his time lamenting about his past, but he'll still be the first to tell you it was rough. It was a lot harder than a lot of people have it. But he doesn't complain, because as traumatic or awful as his experiences may have been, they also equipped him with the skills he needs to fight, to take care of himself. He's been doing it for so long that being in the presence of someone who can't really do the same on the level that he can is...surreal.

Maybe he did help him more than he wants to give himself credit for, but he won't let Keelan deny that he's capable. Even more so than Fae, in a way, since Keelan had so much more to lose.

"It's a shitty thing, to feel like you can't get yourself out of your own problems," Fae murmurs, dragging the sponge down the length of Keelan's leg, "especially when you're the one who caused them." Then, Fae's smiling again, his hand stopping at the crease where Keelan's thigh meets his hip. "But I'd say your luck's on the rise now." He crawls forward, droplets of water raining from his body before he sinks down again, settled in Keelan's lap. It's a provocative position, but his expression isn't suggesting anything lewd - it's bright, interested. "What are you planning to do with it?"
