daor: (another fuck)

He found himself following Fae's gaze to the silk bundle and wondered if they were on the same page. They could purchase weapons and food as well, but clothing seemed fairly important to get them into those shops themselves. But either way, Keelan wasn't naive enough to think they could leave right away. It would take days before the heat was cooled off enough for them to smuggle themselves out of town.

Before he moved, though, he finished cleaning Fae's feet. Keelan stood and reached for the silk bundle, tossing it on the bed beside the other man. Most of what was inside would require a smith's forge to melt down into coin - small gold trinkets, jeweled figurines, a pure gold cock ring. After the first few months, Zeke had started giving him more lavish decorations and tools to bolster the room. Keelan was sure that Zeke had been charging more the fancier his room got.

"There's probably a small fortune in there." Keelan shrugged. Nothing from that room held sentimental value.

Moving back to the basin, he soaked the cloth to loose any dirt and wrung it out for himself. A quick tug of the knot at his robe, and soon it was sliding back off of his shoulders, slipping onto the floor in a pile that he would bother washing later. For now, Keelan crossed the room again and sat on the edge of the bed, taking the cloth to the parts of himself that were dirtiest. Mainly his feet and calves, despising how the dirt felt between his toes.

"We might want to persuade a smith to melt them down before we start bartering. The coin will last us longer and we won't have to take what we can get from some shrewd businessman."
