That's not good.

"Shit," Fae doesn't even bother to try pulling at the door himself, he's already looking for other options. There isn't enough time to go searching for another exit, Fae was too frustrated when he was first brought in to focus on his surroundings or mark exits. He usually has more time in the environment to plan for things like this but their decision to run together happened so quickly, he was putting his bets on Keelan's knowledge of the layout - if this was the only way Keelan knew, then this was the only option they had.

If he had the right tools, a locked door would only be small hurdle, but aside from their thin clothes and the silk sack of oils and ornaments in his hand, he doesn't have anything to work with. He walks away from Keelan briefly, touching nearby walls and decorative pieces - anything that might spark an idea. His fingers brush over a vase - he could break it, make shards sharp enough to stab in a fight - but that idea is quickly thrown out. That would draw attention to their location in an instant and who knows how many grunts would be sent, he's already injured and he's not built for drawn-out fights, he wouldn't be able to protect Keelan and himself.

Fae curses again as he comes back, chewing his lip in thought as he prepares to tell Keelan they may have to look elsewhere, dodging corners and prowling guards as best they can. That's as good as suicide in their condition but Fae isn't the type to give up until he's exhausted every possible option he has.

Then his gaze catches on a glint in Keelan's hair, and his mouth parts in surprise.
