When Keelan's fingers brush his skin in such an affectionate gesture, Fae stiffens. Outside the heat of sex, the touch might as well be foreign to him in its pointless simplicity. He swallows and catches Keelan's hand, lowering it as he tries to smirk through his discomfort. "That better be a promise," he chuckles.

But then, he's swallowing, eyes lidding in thought. "No one's ever come with me."

Or is it more that Fae has never bothered to take anyone with him? He supposes both of those answers contain merit. He's met very few who are as bold and reckless with their own lives as he is, but he's also only kept his own interest as a priority. People can hold you back, worrying about someone makes you weaker for yourself, it's much more difficult to have to consider someone else's life than to simply rip through decisions with just your own on the line.

Keelan said honorable, but he doesn't know. He has no idea what kind of person Fae becomes in a situation where his humanity will only drag him down and keep him front what he wants. Savage is right. Savage is perfect. He doesn't want to subject Keelan to that kind of life or to how cruel he can truly be, but he also can't leave him behind. Not when Fae can see the hunger for freedom slowly beginning to burn in the golden depths of Keelan's eyes. He knows that hunger too well, and he'd do anything to satiate it.
