Hanzo sighed and sat back in his chair. He watched James move for a few moments, then picked up one of the file folders. "Did you sleep well?" he asked, glancing up at Vincent.
Really, he still wasn't quite sure what to think about Vincent. The deer was not as bad as he could have been - Vincent seemed intelligent, and interested in being unobtrusive, but also was seeking his attention. Which was probably normal. Pets were designed to want their owner's attention and affection, right?
It was really too bad that Hanzo was not an overtly affectionate man. He was not given to bold statements or acts of emotion, either. Perhaps in time, it would become simply cruel to keep Vincent and not give him what he needed. But he seemed to like James, and James liked him in return, so possibly that could fill some of Vincent's needs.
