The shrill sound of his voice brings back a familiar memory. She can remember that evening vividly — stumbling away from him as he shouted at her, just like he is now.

She only pauses for a few seconds, locking eyes with him as he squirms on the floor. Her glare is sharp, full of fear mixed with hatred and confusion. Mostly, though, she's running on adrenaline and the urgent need to save Trish. There's no time to untie her, so Jessica grabs her by the arms, slinging her body over her shoulder. She doesn't even realize that Kilgrave has issued an ineffective command. All she cares about is the woman she's carrying. She bolts out of the room, sprinting as if her life depends on it.
